Power Book IV: Force has charged through its first season, with only a few days remaining until the finale hits Starz. Over the weeks, viewers have watched Tommy Egan go from having nothing to being one of the top drug dealers in Chicago. That’s thanks to Dahlia, the newest drug on the streets.

But Tommy’s success has put him in direct conflict with two of the city’s biggest gangs, The Chicago Brothers Incorporated (CBI) and Walter Flynn’s mob. In the latest episode, a shooting broke out, leaving one person dead.

Tommy killed someone in ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Episode 9

In the episode, Tommy and D-Mac were leaving to meet JP when someone pulled up and started shooting. Tommy returned fire, striking and killing a man in the backseat. When the car skirted off, Tommy rushed over to D-Mac and found him suffering from a serious gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to the hospital and continues to fight for his life in the trailer for the Power Book IV: Force Season 1 finale.

While his shooters are unknown, it is likely that Jenard ordered the hit. He was enraged to find out that D-Mac had cut him out of the deal with Cousin Buddy and is clearly not someone to let something like that go. JP asks Tommy to find out for certain in the trailer for the next episode, which he’s proud to do.

Did Tommy shoot Jenard?

Some social media users wondered whether Jenard was actually the person that Tommy shot. This is mainly because he wasn’t noticed in the trailer for Power Book IV: Force Episode 10. But if you look closely, Jenard does appear to be there.

Around the 0:33 mark, CBI members are seen breaking into Diamond’s barbershop with guns in hand. This includes Jenard’s right-hand Blaxton, which means he’s also ruled out. More than likely, then, the person who was shot was not central to the plot. We’ll see for sure next week.

What else to expect in ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 1 Episode 10

In the same episode, Walter Flynn convinced Vic that Tommy was behind the hit that killed Gloria. Claudia Flynn was initially skeptical of this, but her feelings changed after seeing Tommy talking to Rodovan Mirkovic. She didn’t realize Tommy only met with him to ask for protection after hearing Walter was planning to kill him. Back at her father’s, she apologized for ever doubting him and agreed to the hit on Tommy.

Walter had a told-you-so attitude, but the look on his face indicated he may have orchestrated the attack. He’d assured Vic he would’ve never put his life at risk, no matter how much he didn’t like Gloria. But with Walter, you never really know.

Nonetheless, the Flynns move forward with the hit on Tommy in the April 17 episode. Check out the show on Starz at 8 p.m. ET on Sundays.
