Emily Osment returns to her comedy roots in the Netflix original series Pretty Smart. Alongside Osment, former Disney star Gregg Sulkin and comedy veteran Pamela Fryman (Call Your Mother) will star in the new show. Created and written by Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand, the comedy series will bring a lot of laughs. Before the series premiere, here is everything we know so far about Netflix’s Pretty Smart.

‘Pretty Smart’ is a Netflix original comedy series

Osment is back for another comedy series. The actor portrays Chelsea, a Harvard graduate who moves to LA. After a breakup, the aspiring writer moves in with her bubbly, carefree sister Claire (Olivia Macklin) and her three roommates. However, Chelsea soon discovers that she is the only “smart” one in the house.

Alongside her sister, Chelsea must live with fitness buff Grant (Gregg Sulkin), a lawyer turned healer named Solana (Cinthya Carmon), and Jayden (Michael Hsu Rosen), a social media influencer.

The comedy series features talented actors, plus a bit of romance

Emily Osment is most notably known for starring in Disney’s Hannah Montana and ABC Family/Freeform sitcom Young & Hungry. She recently had a recurring role on the Netflix comedy series The Kominsky Method. The series received 12 nominations at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, she starred in the FOX drama series Almost Family. The show aired for one season on the network.

Former Disney star Gregg Sulkin also played a prominent role in Wizards of Waverly Place. Since then, he starred in MTV’s Faking It, Young & Hungry, and Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu

Not only will the comedy series be filled with laughs, but there will also be a romance storyline. For instance, Chelsea develops a crush on shirtless but handsome personal trainer Grant. Although he is Claire’s ex-boyfriend, the Ivy League graduate has feelings for him – Claire reiterates that the two are “just friends.”

Despite his childlike mannerisms, Grant is a man that every woman wants. Even though Chelsea just broke up with her boyfriend, there could be a new romance on the horizon for her.
