As the U.K. prepares for Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubliee weekend with several upcoming celebrations such as the Trooping the Colour parade, attention has shifted to other members of the monarch’s family who will be present for the historic event.

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed they’ll be traveling to England for the festivities many have questioned how much involvement the couple will have in the events and how they will interact with the other royals. According to Princess Diana’s former butler, Prince Charles and Prince William will have to meet with Prince Harry before he makes any public appearances because they know he’s a “loose cannon.”

The Jubilee visit will be the first time Queen Elizabeth meets Harry and Meghan’s daughter

In early May it was confirmed that Meghan, Harry, and their two young kids Archie and Lilibet, will all be in the U.K. to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

“Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are excited and honored to attend the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement via CNN.

Lilibet’s first birthday is on June 4 so it’s believed that the monarch could meet her great-granddaughter for the first time that day at Windsor Castle. The Sussexes are reportedly staying at Frogmore Cottage with Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, who have been living at the residence for some time since Meghan and Harry moved out. The property is in Windsor Park on the grounds of the castle.

Former royal butler says Prince Charles and Prince William must meet privately with ‘loose cannon’ Prince Harry

But before they all gather for the celebrations there will likely be some meetings behind closed doors to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.

Paul Burrell worked as Princess Diana’s butler from 1987 until her death in 1997. He has weighed in on the Sussexes’ return to the U.K. and believes Prince Charles and Prince William will need to meet with Harry privately ahead of the Jubilee events.

“I think Harry will have to see his father and his brother before the public sees him,” Diana’s former employee told OK! magazine (per Express). “They’ll have to iron out some creases before we see him with his family. I think Charles and William see Harry as a bit of a loose cannon now.”

Burrell also opined: “If they didn’t see him, I think that would rile Harry even more and who knows what might happen in the public eye. It’s damage limitation. The world will be watching Meghan and Harry and William and Kate and not focusing on the queen. They have the potential of stealing the show because we’re all fascinated to know how Harry’s going to fit back into his family.”

In an effort to keep the Duke of Sussex and his wife from completely stealing the spotlight, it was announced that they will not appear on the royal balcony. TMZ obtained a statement that said Meghan, Harry, and Prince Andrew will not be permitted to stand on the balcony with other members of The Firm.

“After careful consideration, the queen has decided this year’s traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday, 2 June, will be limited to Her Majesty, and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the queen,” the statement read.

There’s also been plenty of chatter that the palace will not tolerate any family drama to overshadow Queen Elizabeth’s historic Jubilee celebration. Therefore, everyone will need to put their differences aside when they do appear in public together.
