Godparents are a huge deal for members of the British Royal Family. Typically, in the months after the birth of a little royal and before their baptizing, the child’s parents think long and hard about who will care for and look after their children as advisors, guides, and pseudo-parents. When Prince George was born –as the third in line for the British Throne, Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton did not take the task of choosing his godparents lightly. The British Royal Family are religious people which is why they take the baptizing and the naming of godparents seriously. In Oct. 2013, when he was just three months old, Prince George was baptized at the Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace.

Prince Louis, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s youngest son has six godparents –one more than his sister and one less than his big brother. They are several of the duke and duchess good friends, Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Lady Laura Meade, and Mrs. Robert Carter. Will Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince William be Baby Sussex’s godparents?

Duchess Meghan Markle is currently expecting her first child who is due in the Spring of 2019. However, we doubt that Prince William and Duchess Kate will be chosen as the baby’s godparents. Currently, Prince William and Prince Harry are in the middle of a feud.
