Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Were Asked to Publicly Denounce a Rumor About Prince William, Source Claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed they left the British royal family due to the racist British media and lack of support from the royal family. Now, one source alleges that Kensington Palace asked the Sussexes to publicly denounce a rumor about Prince William bullying them.

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have gotten candid about all of the things they endured separately and as a couple as senior working members of the British royal family. The Sussexes exited royal life after two years due to the racist and sexist media frenzy surrounding Meghan and the lack of support they received from the royals.

They also revealed that the royal family refused to clear up horrible rumors that swirled about Meghan, including one that stated she made Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, cry.

Now it has been revealed that the Sussexes were asked to denounce a rumor about Prince William publically.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the British royal family in large part because of the tabloids

In their CBS special, Oprah with Meghan and Harry the Sussexes revealed that they left the royal family and the U.K. in large part due to the tabloids’ racist and bigoted mentality.

“If the source of information is inherently corrupt or racist or bias, then that filters out to the rest of society,” Prince Harry said of the U.K. press.

For her part, Meghan had assumed that the royal family would protect her from lies and slander. However, she now says she deeply regrets believing that would have happened. “I regret believing that because I think had I really seen that that wasn’t happening, I would have been able to do more,” she told Oprah. “But I think I wasn’t supposed to see it.”

Meghan Markle said the British royal family had an active role in ‘perpetuating falsehoods’

In the interview, Prince Harry explained the invisible contract that the royals have with the British media. “There is this invisible contract behind closed doors, behind the institution and U.K. tabloids,” he explained. “Well, to simplify it, it’s a case of if you, as a family member, are willing to wine, dine, and give full access to these reporters, then you will get better press. I think everybody needs to have some compassion in that situation. There is a level of control by fear that has existed for generations.”

Since they are so closely tied, the royals had every opportunity to correct any incorrect information that the press published about Meghan, but they never did.

As Meghan explains, “There is an active role that ‘The Firm’ is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.”

The British royal family asked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to denounce a rumor about Prince William

To add insult to injury, it has now been revealed that the Sussexes were asked to denounce a rumor about Prince William publically. According to Harper’s Bazaar‘s royal editor Omid Scobie, who also co-wrote the book Finding Freedom, Meghan, and Prince Harry was asked to “cosign a statement against an ‘offensive’ newspaper report stating Prince William ‘constantly bullied’ the Sussexes before they decided to step away.”

Meghan allegedly responded, “Well, if we’re just throwing any statement out there now, then perhaps KP can finally set the record straight about me [not making Kate cry],” Scobie reported.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not returned a request for comment about the alleged email by the time of publication.
