Is the royal family poised for a reconciliation? Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex may be on their way to having better relations with the rest of the royal family if, according to a royal author, they put a pause on their “PR machine.”

After saying twice — first in 2019 and again in 2021 — he and brother Prince William, Duke of Cambridge had been giving each other “space,” Harry seems to be ready to move forward. Royal biographer and historian Robert Lacey says the 36-year-old wants to reconcile with William

Lacey revealed in his Battle of Brothers book that William and Meghan are “sticking to their guns.” Meanwhile, Harry’s ready to move on.

“What’s interesting is that on one side we’ve got William who doesn’t seem prepared to concede anything, and on the other side, friends have told me that Harry wouldn’t mind reconciling and then it’s Meghan who is sticking to her guns on this issue,” Lacey said.

Royal author says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should give their ‘PR machine’ a break so the royal family can have ‘serious negotiations’

Lacey also offered up some advice for Harry and Meghan in his book. Per Newsweek, he wrote that the couple has to stop what they’re doing. Which is, according to him, getting information out to the public through Oprah Winfrey and Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have to get a grip on themselves, for a start, to stop passing on the inside scoop of these discussions to the media,” he said.

Lacey continued, saying, “There can be no serious negotiations over what really matters if Charles, William or the Queen herself suspect that whatever they say when they open up their hearts will find its way back to the Sussexes’ twin Os,” or “Omid and Oprah.”

“Not to mention the gossipy Gayle [King], the supportive cast of Suits, the anonymous friends who spoke, so unprompted, to People magazine … The outlets seem endless,” he added.

Lacey went on to make a plea directly to the Duchess of Sussex.

“So please, dear Meghan, could you shut down your PR machine for just a month or so while these important matters get sorted out? Sunshine Sachs, Sussex spokespeople, Archewell—give them all a holiday,” he said. “They are a remorseless mechanism generating material to fill a space that does not have to be filled.”
