After being confined to their country home in Norfolk for months, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are back doing public royal appearances. Thus far, they have met with retirees at a nursing home and visited a U.K. island to promote the tourism industry.
In the months following Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry’s royal exit, all eyes have been on the Cambridges to carry the royal family forward. Though Queen Elizabeth is well-respected and beloved, it’s no secret that many people feel like the monarchy, with its many outdated regulations, has no place in the 21st century.
Now, as they have taken the reigns of the family amid Megxit, Prince Andrew’s ousting and older royals in isolation, Kate and Prince William are looking to make some changes.

From speaking with people and organizations to showcasing their young family and children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, we’ve been seeing a lot more of the Cambridges lately.
In fact, in the months following Megxit and before lockdown, fans also noticed that the duke and duchess appeared much more relaxed and approachable, even showcasing some very rare PDA. Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told True Royalty TV,
Despite all the noise around Harry and Meghan, the reality is William and Kate have got a pretty important job to do. This is giving them space, and to some extent the Prince Andrew ongoing Epstein saga, it is giving William and Kate the space to focus on the job they’ve got to do. And I think at the moment, they are doing very well.

After playing a major role in the de-royaling of Prince Andrew after his horrifying BBC News Night interview in November 2019, and in repairing his own relationship with Prince Harry, the Duke of Cambridge has been flexing his leadership skills.
After all, the prince will come into power in the coming years as the Crowned King and the Sovereign Monarch. With so much responsibility, and seeing how the royal family has transformed in his lifetime, he’s had to decide how the royals should move going forward.
In fact, the prince is starting to rethink some things, including the royal family’s stiff upper lip policy.

Though they aren’t looking to do anything drastic, certainly not in the way the Sussexes envisioned royal life, Kate and Prince William do want to shift some things in the royal family. A source told Us Weekly.
Kate and William have been handed more new responsibilities than Charles. The Duke and Duchess are planning to make “subtle changes to the monarchy. They definitely won’t abolish traditions or anything like that, but that they will become more relaxed. Like the dress code and showing affection in public. They’ll continue being advocates for mental health, which in previous generations is a topic that was rarely discussed.
