Prince William and Kate Middleton Are Ready to Begin Communicating With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Again
When Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry got engaged in November 2017 — royal fans were delighted about the possibility of a Fab Four. They envisioned the Sussexes and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge along with Prince William as an unbreakable foursome. Unfortunately, that never happened.
Tension had already eased into Prince Harry and Prince William’s brotherly bond when the elder prince warned his brother against moving to fast with Markle. Likewise, though the duchesses were always friendly with one another, Markle and Middleton never had much in common.
In January 2020 when the Sussexes announced they were stepping down as working members of the royal family, it came as a shock to everyone including the Cambridges. Though there was some animosity there, it appears that Prince William and Kate Middleton are ready to begin communicating with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle again.
The Sussexes and the Cambridges are relieved that Megxit is over
After announcing their intent to step down as senior members of the royal family, Markle rushed off to Canada while Prince Harry remained in the U.K. for two weeks to hammer out details with his family. The talks between the young prince, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William were fairly tense.
However, now that a path has been laid out and the Sussexes have been living a quiet and low-key life on Vancouver Island, everyone is happier. “This decision [to leave] had been weighing on them for a long time, and they are relieved to have it done,” a friend explained to People. “A weight has been lifted off their shoulders.”
As for the brothers, they are slowly talking a bit more. Though Prince William was shocked by his brother’s decision, it seems that he understands it. “They didn’t leave on good terms by any means, but they are both relieved that it’s over,” another friend told People.
Kate Middleton misses Prince Harry terribly
Though Middleton and Markle never really bonded, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex were once extremely close. The strain between her husband and his brother was one thing, but now that Prince Harry lives halfway around the world, Midleton is terrified they will never be close again.
“She wishes she could speak to Harry. She misses him and fears she’ll never be close to him again,” an insider told US Weekly. Unfortunately, Megixt hasn’t helped form a true friendship between the duchesses either. “They couldn’t be further apart,” the source explained.

Though there is a bit of bad blood still brewing between the couples, now that the smoke from Mexit is clearing, the Cambridges are ready to reach out to the Sussexes.
“We have a source telling us that when Harry and Meghan left, it wasn’t on good terms,” People magazine’s senior royal editor Michelle Tauber explained. “However, another source told us that they are both relieved and they are starting to be able to begin communications again and things are warming up. It’s no single factor that led to this break from the family but rather a series of them. All families are complicated, the Royal Family is no exception and they have their own added complications. We know both Harry and Meghan felt increasingly estranged from the family, they were feeling frustrated by the limitations.”
Hopefully, things will ease now that the couples are on their separate paths and their children will have the opportunity to become close now that this is all in the past.
