Royal fans around the world were absolutely ecstatic when, in September 2019, Princess Beatrice announced that she was engaged to Edoardo “Edo” Mapelli Mozzi. They make an absolutely wonderful couple, and it is great to see Princess Beatrice so happy and in love. Suddenly, the world was eagerly awaiting another spectacular royal wedding, where fans would line up in the streets to get a glimpse of the bride on her big day.

It was announced in a statement by Buckingham Palace that the couple was to be married in May 2020, but, sadly, the event was postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Luckily, Princess Beatrice and Edo didn’t have to wait too long to tie the knot and recently became husband and wife in a secret ceremony. Fans were clamoring to see pictures of the wedding as they were released, and everyone was on the edge of their seats in anticipation of the details. The bride looked absolutely stunning just as everyone had expected, but her wedding look had a unique twist. Princess Beatrice of York

Princess Beatrice isn’t considered to be a working royal. In fact, she holds a typical 9-5 job just like the rest of us. So, who exactly is Princess Beatrice of York? Well, she is the oldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and is currently ninth in line to the British throne. According to Town & Country, the princess attended Goldsmiths College in London, and following her graduation, she spent some time working in New York City. We see Princess Beatrice occasionally at official royal events, and royal fans know that she has an extremely close relationship with her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. She does some charitable work as well, serving as a patron to several organizations, specifically those that center around children.

A surprise wedding

Royal weddings are some of the most anticipated events ever, and in recent years, several of them have been broadcast on live television. Many fans were hoping for the same when Beatrice and Edo got married, but, as we know, current circumstances didn’t allow that to happen. It turns out, though, that Beatrice got her happy ending regardless. According to Express, the couple exchanged vows in a small, secret ceremony that took place in Windsor on July 17, and was attended by close family and a few friends. Judging from the pictures, Beatrice was as happy as can be and was absolutely glowing. Her family was overjoyed as well, and Sarah Ferguson even released a statement saying how proud she is of her oldest daughter, according to Yahoo

Princess Beatrice Was Desperate to Keep Her Romance With Husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Secret

One of the most exciting parts of any wedding is seeing the bride in the dress of her dreams. Usually, royal brides step out in amazing bespoke designs, but Princess Beatrice decided to go in a different direction. Rather than have a dress created from start to finish, she instead went vintage, borrowing a dress that has been worn by the queen. She didn’t keep it exactly how it was, though, choosing to add lovely puffy sleeves to the gown and removing the underskirt to create a simpler silhouette. She finished the look with her grandmother’s tiara, and the end result was absolutely stunning. The dress, first worn by the queen in 1962, was designed by Norman Hartnell, who has designed more than one look for her majesty, according to PageSix. In addition to the dress that Bea chose to get married in, he is also responsible for designing Queen Elizabeth’s coronation gown as well as her own wedding dress, Town & Country reports. Looks like Hartnell is the driving force behind some of the royal family member’s most beautiful looks ever.
