Prudence The Teenage Bi*ch: ‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’ Star, Tati Gabrielle, Reflects On Her Iconic Role

“Wow, I’m a b*tch!” actress Tati Gabrielle thought to herself the first time she watched herself play Prudence Night Blackwood on the hit Netflix show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Prior to this iconic role, the actress had never played the role of a villain, and even she was shocked by what she managed to bring to the role.

Gabrielle has been acting professionally for the past five years, but her publicity has increased exponentially since joining the cast of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The series has been so well-received that it has already been renewed for a fourth season, despite season 2 releasing just last month.

One, bad witch

In the series, Gabrielle plays the complex role of the villanous Prudence. Prudence is the unapologetic leader of a trio of witches coined the “Weird Sisters” and is as sinister as teenage witches come. Prudence has no qualms about cursing people, nearly torturing fellow students to death, and even plotting the murder of her own father. She is undoubtedly the bad witch we all wish we could be.

When asked about her own interpretation of her character within the dark show, the actress states, “It addresses anybody on a path or journey to discover who they are, which people do at any age, as well as this idea of belief. What do you believe in, how far do your beliefs go, what do they drive you to do, and how do your beliefs affect the people and world around you? It’s a show big on girl power and a woman’s place in the world, despite the patriarchy.”

Mortal life

But who is Gabrielle when she’s not on set? Between the hectic schedule that the actress keeps, (somehow managing to successfully navigate filming two different shows) and her steadily increasing fame, it’s a wonder how she manages to stay so grounded.

Imparting wisdom that seems far beyond her 23 years of life, she encourages her fans to stay present with the following message,”Take two hours of the day to not be on your phone, and to live in the world and be present. And let go of social media for a minute. And go be out in the world and experience life with your own two eyes and two hands and the body that you were given.”

Self-love guru

Along with being present, the actress is also a big believer of self-love. Gabrielle is constantly preaching about loving the skin you’re in and embracing the things that make you unique. Though most of her career is spent playing dress up, she acknowledges how important it is to be comfortable with yourself au naturel.

In a recent quote in collaboration with Refinery29, the twenty-three-year-old stated, “I always like to tell people that in regards to makeup, yes, it makes you feel and look beautiful, but don’t ever feel like you have to rely or depend on it. Your natural face is the most beautiful thing that you were given. Learn to appreciate that as well, which makes the makeup that much more exciting when you put it on.”
