Let the binge-watching begin. After months of anticipation, Netflix and Queer Eye announced there’s a season 6 to be released on the streaming platform — can you believe? Here’s what we know about the upcoming seasons of this reality series, including one season taking place in Austin, Texas, and another based in Philly, Pennsylvania.

‘Queer Eye’ is a Netflix original series

If you’re looking for a heart-warming series, there’s nothing quite like the Netflix original, Queer Eye. Over the course of a few seasons, the “Fab Five” stole our hearts by helping local heroes improve their lives. They started in Gay, Georgia. Then they took on the world.

The members of the Fab Five included Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Bobby Berk, and Karamo Brown. It’s because of these experts that the series won Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, and renewed Queer Eye for at least six seasons. The sixth one, however, is already wrapped and set for release within the next few months.

The next season of ‘Queer Eye’ takes place in Austin, Texas

For the first time, these experts are bringing their positivity to a new state. Thanks to the Instagram account of this series, fans learned that the upcoming sixth season will take place in Austin, Texas. A post showed the squad posting in front of a sign that read, “Queer Eye: The most fabulous thing in Texas since chaps.”

Viewers couldn’t be more excited. Within a matter of days, the post earned over 350,000 likes, with some fans asking when the next episodes will premiere. This season will feature the Fab Five as they “scour the prairie in a search for a whole new roster of heroes in need of a little TLC,” according to a release from the streaming platform

Not much other information has been released regarding the sixth season of this series. Presumably, season 5 would premiere on the streaming platform first, joining the first four seasons and the mini-series starring the Fab Five.

The fifth season of ‘Queer Eye’ will premiere next on the streaming platform

Although the Queer Eye guys wrapped filming in this Texas-based episode, there’s another season already filmed which will, presumably, debut first. This one takes place in “the City of Brotherly Love,” also known as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fans first found out with a post to Instagram, which had the infamous mascot of the Philadephia Flyers, Gritty, in the background.

This would be the first season featuring the Queer Eye members since the debut of their “special” season, Queer Eye: We’re in Japan. In this mini-series, the Fab Five took their talents overseas, sharing their message of empowerment, self-love, and promoting healthy habits.

There is no official premiere date for the fifth season of Queer Eye. Presumably, more information will be announced in the coming weeks. Until then, fans can watch already released seasons of this series on the streaming platform.
