Ranch Rules’ Redmond Parker Describes Camp Conditions: ‘It Was 105 Degrees’ and ‘We Were Extremely Scared’ for Jasmine (Exclusive)

Redmond Parker from the reality show Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules said cameras didn’t do the rugged and heated camping conditions justice.

He described working and camping in extreme heat. But added that the cast worried about Jasmine Lawrence’s knee injury, especially when no one knew why she was in so much pain.

“The camping exhausted a lot of us,” he explained in an interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “And what you don’t know is when we were out there riding and herding the cattle it was so hot that day. My allergies flared up. Everyone was irritable because we were cooking in the hot sun.”

Setting up the camp was draining so when it came to time to cook dinner, everyone was fried. He estimated the temperatures were close to 105 degrees and the group’s patience was shot.

The ‘Ranch Rules’ cast battled some serious heat

Producers clocked the temperature to be at 92 degrees at 6 pm. At that point, Parker said everyone was irritable. Austin Gunn and Harry James Thornton were especially cranky and they bickered over when to start the campfire because of the heat.

Meanwhile, Lawrence had to sit out setting up camp because she hurt her knee during the horseback ride. Gunn found a large stump for Lawrence to use to prop up her leg. “I don’t know what’s going on with my knee,” she said in a confessional. “I feel like it’s just some tendonitis. I’m so glad that Austin’s helping me so I can just sit down, rest, and get some ice on my knee.”

Redmond Parker said everyone was worried about Jasmine Lawrence’s knee injury

Parker said the Ranch Rules cast was concerned about Lawerence. “She had some knee issues that she had expressed a little bit earlier,” he said. “I think when it came down to it, she just had some tendonitis and she wasn’t icing it and taking care of it.” He added, “I think it just finally started cramping up on her and hit her pretty hard.”

And while the cast later realized Lawrence had tendonitis, they weren’t entirely sure what was wrong with her at the moment. “We were all extremely scared [for her],” Parker said. “We were all really scared when it first happened because we didn’t know what was going on. Fortunately, we found out later it was tendonitis and it wasn’t something more severe.”

“I mean I had tendonitis,” he said. “I used to play division one basketball so I used to get tendonitis in my knee so tendonitis is no fun and it definitely takes a long time to go away.”

He teased twists and funny moments coming up

Thankfully Lawrence recovers and Parker teased what viewers can expect in upcoming episodes. “For the upcoming episode, I would say it is a really good, impactful moment for a lot of us,” he said.

Parker was seen trying to keep the peace when Gunn and Thornton got heated during dinner. They were so angry, it looked like they were about to come to blows. Parker said the cast opens up “to new depths and lets everyone in more into our personal lives.”

He added, “I think it was a very powerful touching point.” He also teased a funny moment with Ebie Wright and a twist in the romance with Gunn and Hana Giraldo. “I think you get to see a different side with Austin and Hanna, so get ready for that.”
