When Drummond and her husband, Ladd, were building The Boarding House, she made sure to keep her fans abreast of the project. One interesting fact she mentioned on The Pioneer Woman blog is that she and Ladd like to compete against each other:

I’m not sure I told you that Marlboro Man and I are tackling different rooms in the hotel, but that’s how we like to do things: Try to outdo each other as we did with our bathroom competition in our office a few years ago. The rooms in The Boarding House have names like The Tack Room, The Ranch Room, The Emerald Room (guess whose room that one is?!?), and The Butterfly Room (ditto. ha), and this is a tile I’m using in one of the bathrooms. It’s concrete and I love it.

Whenever Drummond releases a new book, she usually takes time to travel around the country and promote her work. However, she mentioned on her blog that she doesn’t like to spend more than two days per week on a tour.

Drummond told her fans she prefers to limit her time away so that she can stay close to home and take care of her family. “I’m on a quick cookbook trip,” said Drummond.

“I structured my cookbook tour in such a way as to only be gone one or two days a week during the tour, for the following reasons: I have teenagers, I have a husband, I have dogs, I have an attachment to my house, I have cow manure in my yard (not relevant to this discussion, but just thought I’d mention), I have teenagers, I have a husband, I have dogs, and so on.”

Ree Drummond says she thanks God for each person who crosses her path during book signings

As if Drummond couldn’t get any sweeter, she does it again when she reveals to her blog readers that she thanks God for each person she meets during her book signings. The Food Network star says she cherishes the kind people who cross her path during these events:

I’m so grateful for the opportunities I have to travel and meet so many wonderfully kind people at my book signings. It’s something I cherish and appreciate, and after every book signing I thank God for each person who has crossed my path! And then coming home… it’s a blessing all its own. Just being able to settle back into a routine, to exhale, to not brush my hair (ha)… I love it!
