From the CMT Music Awards to the silver screen, Randy Houser is a man of many hats — or rather, cowboy boots. The “How Country Feels” artist will embark on his 2022 North American tour just weeks after starring alongside Dennis Quaid in The Hill.

Showbiz Cheat Sheet caught up with Houser to discuss his upcoming album, tour, and film-related projects.

“Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” earned the CMT Music Award for Male Video of the Year, while “How Country Feels” earned Breakthrough Video of the Year, in addition to millions of plays on the streaming platform Spotify.

Just months after the release of his 2020 single “Love Will Turn You Around,” Houser teased more new music. The artist confirmed that he’s “pretty much done” with an album, although there is no official release date for the upcoming production.

This next year brings several new concerts from the “How Country Feels” artist, as Houser will embark on a tour in early 2022. These performances, stopping in Orlando, Las Vegas, and other major cities, will feature songs from Houser’s 2019 release, Magnolia. The tour is especially exciting, Houser shared, because some 2021 performances were drive-in, postponed, and even canceled.

“I’m always, always excited to get out and play music live…,” Houser said. “Next year’s is going to be a really fun year as far as touring aspect.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Houser returned to the stage since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The musician performed at the 2021 Watershed music festival and a “Concerts in Your Car” Drive-In event. Additionally, health checks are in place for several venues along the 2022 tour.

“If we’re coming anywhere near you, you should probably come out,” Houser said. “We’re gonna have fun.”

Randy Houser appears in Jeff Celentano’s ‘The Hill’ and the Martin Scorsese film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’

In addition to his country stardom, Houser appears in several feature films, including the upcoming release The Hill. Directed by Jeff Celentano, this movie tells the incredible true story of a physically handicapped boy with a passion for baseball.

Houser portrays Ray Clemons, a father figure to the main character. He stars alongside Quaid, who portrays James Hill.

“Since the 1970s in particular, the sports film has gained increasing recognition as one of the most important and popular genres in contemporary cinema,” Quaid said. “I couldn’t be more excited about this project. This film will no doubt further validate the power of American social mobility and show that in America you can choose to be what you want.”

Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, now in its post-production stage, features Houser as Scott Mathis. Although a release date has not been finalized, IMDb reports this production will premiere sometime in 2022.

Music by Houser is available on most major streaming platforms.
