Ariana Grande has been in the spotlight since her early teen years, and as a result, she is no stranger to being the subject of rumors. The “thank u, next” songstress began her career on the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious which ran until 2013. Afterward, she snagged a role as co-lead on the spin-off, Sam & Cat. After leaving Nickelodeon– Grande shot to super-stardom with a massive singing career for herself.

Since then, Grande has been in the public eye in a big way –dealing with the ups and downs of her romantic life and being a celebrity in the public eye. Still–there is one rumor Grande just can’t shake. Apparently, she’s carried around nearly everywhere she goes.

The real reason Ariana Grande gets carried around everywhere

At just five feet tall, it doesn’t seem like a big deal for any sizable person to carry the petite singer around. But the reality is, Grande doesn’t actually demand to carried everywhere like she’s queen Nefertiti. In fact, the Grammy Award winner finds the rumor hilarious. While appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden she discussed the bizarre suggestion. Corden asked her, “So that isn’t true? You don’t get carried everywhere?” The “7 rings” singer responded, “No, that’s so stupid. Are you crazy?”

Though Grande is adamant about not being carried about on a daily basis, we all know that rumors usually stem from some version of the truth. The “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” singer explained, “There was a picture of me being carried by my tour manager because I had just shot a video in pointe shoes. And I posted it because I thought it was cute. My toes were bleeding, I was in pain.”

Why did the rumor that Ariana Grande likes to be carried like a baby spiral out of control?

Way back in 2014 –rumors began swirling that the former actress demanded to be carried, “like a baby.’ An alleged source close to Grande reportedly told Life and Style, “when she doesn’t feel like walking. She says that she doesn’t want her precious feet to hit the floor.

Grande and Corden decided to poke fun at the rumor again when the songstress appeared on Carpool Karaoke. When the duo stopped for Starbucks, Grande hopped on Corden’s back and exclaimed to the barista, “Hello, I’m Ariana Grande. I must be carried…That is the kind of pop star I am. I just want ya’ll to know if you see me anywhere, it’s cause I didn’t walk there myself.”

Honestly, if our job required us to stand in heels for hours on end, we’d want someone to carry us around too.
