Reba McEntire and Rex Linn Have Upheld a Romantic Tradition Through 2 Years of Dating
Reba McEntire and Rex Linn have kept up an adorably sweet tradition they started in the earliest days of their courtship. Though the ritual began in response to pandemic lockdown restrictions, she said they’ve upheld it throughout two years of dating. And now they are “really looking forward” to taking their daily routine on the road.

After two failed marriages for McEntire, she and Linn turned decades of friendship into romance. She shared with her sisters Susie McEntire-Eaton and Alice Foran on the Jesus Calling podcast that she believes Linn was a gift to her from God. She also said she’d been waiting her life for a partner like him.
“I’ve waited 66 years for a man to pray with and to share a faith and love of the Lord,” she shared, “to be compassionate and have a compassionate heart. That’s very special.”
Something that made their bond uniquely strong is how it began. They were forced into isolation separately after reconnecting and got to know each other more deeply over daily phone calls called “coffee camps.”

According to Taste of Country, McEntire said in March 2022 that she and Linn hadn’t yet missed a “coffee camp” since the daily ritual started in 2020. The couple now lives together, but they still find a way to work the tradition into their days.
“I don’t care if I’m doing Good Morning America while I’m in Nashville, so I have to get up at, like, five [in the morning], and he’s out here in [Los Angeles], so he’s at three o’clock,” the country superstar explained. “We have not missed a morning.”
“Even when he had oral surgery,” she went on. That day, she waited until he got home and made their coffee. They “sat on the couch, watched television, [and] had coffee camp.”
The only problem with that particular occasion was that Linn eventually forgot. “Later on that afternoon, he said, ‘So when are we gonna have coffee camp?'” she shared. “I said, ‘I guess I should have waited ’til all the anesthesia wore off a little bit better!'”

Notably, McEntire and Linn didn’t even let the 2022 Oscars get in the way of their routine and had their “coffee camp” before glamming up for the red carpet. And though their relationship started under the restrictions of strict pandemic lockdowns, McEntire and Linn can now travel, something she loves to do.
“I love to go home, and I love to travel. So I’m pretty much a happy camper wherever I am,” she explained. “And Rex and I are really looking forward to going and seeing more of the world together.”
And it sounds like no matter where in the world they go, they’ll still be having their “coffee camps.”
