Ree Drummond’s husband Ladd gets a little help on the ranch

Drummond’s husband Ladd works hard on the ranch so having some help is always appreciated. The Pioneer Woman star shared a photo on Instagram that showed Ladd’s most adorable assistants hanging out with the cattle and a gorgeous sunrise glowing behind them.

Her Dec. 3 Instagram post explained it all in the caption. “Ladd helped the Bassets feed cattle this morning. (They let him tag along from time to time, you see.) Fred and Rusty keep this place running! According to them,” she wrote.

Drummond’s daughter Alex commented on the post, “MVP’s of the ranch.”

Drummond’s fans loved seeing this slice of ranch life featuring two of the family dogs in the foreground.

“Omg. Bassets are the BEST,” one fan wrote, while another person quipped, “So nice of Fred and Rusty to help Ladd.”

Many fans commented about the personalities of the Drummond dogs. Comments included, “Living their best life!!!” “Omg!! love those spunky attitudes!” and “Awww they are adorable, strapping young lads!”

Other followers shared their appreciation for having dogs to “help” out. “The best boss ever is a dog!” one of Drummond’s fans commented. “Behind every great man is a great dog … or two,” another person said.

Some fans thought it was sweet to see the dogs “earn their keep.” One fan noted, “It is important for them to acknowledge their rightful place in the Drummond Empire. They would also do well as the greeters at The Merc. Who could resist those faces?”

Still other fans pointed out that they might not be the quintessential ranch dogs, but the hounds are living it up. “Living in Wyoming, I just don’t think of Bassets as ranch dogs,” one person commented. “Just proves you can be whatever you want to be!!!!”

Some of Drummond’s fans loved the beautiful photo

Many of Drummond’s followers loved the ranch view captured in the photo. “Beautiful shot!” one follower commented. When another fan noted, “This is a GREAT picture!,” Drummond gave all the credit to Ladd as the photographer.

Another one of her Instagram followers pointed out, “The birds make the sun look like it’s smiling.”

“So cute” one fan commented. “And you always have the most breathtaking photos of the ranch!”

‘The Pioneer Woman’ star called 1 of the dogs her ‘favorite man in the world’

The Drummond family pets are so adored. On Oct. 6, The Pioneer Woman star posted photos of her sweet dog Rusty (and Lucy made a cameo, too!) and she explained just how special this Basset hound is.

“His eyes are mysterious orbs of amber, like the one on John Hammond’s cane in Jurassic Park, minus the prehistoric mosquitos,” Drummond wrote in the caption. “Rusty is my favorite man in the world and I’m so obsessed. Also, look at Lucy’s tongue in the last pic.”

Drummond shared her obsession for the breed in a June 2020 blog post on The Pioneer Woman website. “I’ve loved bassets all my life,” she explained. “Their excess skin, floppy ears, droopy eyes, and hilarious personalities keep me entertained and make my heart leap.”
