Ree Drummond makes a TikTok-inspired baked goat cheese pasta

Drummond demonstrated how to make her easy baked goat cheese pasta during an episode of The Pioneer Woman, sharing how she put a spin on the famous TikTok recipe.

She placed cherry tomatoes, garlic cloves, and shallots in a baking dish and drizzled olive oil over the top, then sprinkled fresh oregano, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes over everything. “So basically, the original feta version starts like this… and this is where I am departing. I’ve got two little four-ounce logs of goat cheese and I’m just nestling them in among the tomatoes,” Drummond explained. “The feta version just takes a big block of feta cheese and sticks it right on top.”

The Pioneer Woman star added another drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes, noting, “How simple was that preparation? That’s what’s so popular about this recipe.”

Drummond placed the baking dish in a 425 degree Fahrenheit oven and baked it for 20 to 25 minutes “until the tomatoes are roasted and that goat cheese is ooey and gooey.”

The Pioneer Woman star removed the pan from the oven and spooned on pesto before adding cooked and drained pasta to the dish as well as some hot pasta water “just to make sure this stays really saucy and wonderful.”

While she stirred everything together, Drummond noted, “I love that there are little charred pieces of garlic here and there. This is so easy to make. Can you believe that? The hardest thing was just walking over to the oven twice.” She finished the dish by sprinkling torn basil leaves over the top before serving. “This is a winner — I love it,” the Food Network host declared after taking a bite.

The full recipe is available on the Food Network website.

“You never, ever know what you’re going to get when you open TikTok, and I’m sure that’s part of its charm,” she wrote. “It can be addictive, and judging from the time I have occasionally wasted scrolling through videos, it makes me worry about what the long-term societal effects will be. But I’ll worry about that tomorrow!”
