Breakfast on Thanksgiving morning often gets overlooked. After all, dinner is the main event and no one wants to dirty the kitchen making breakfast when there’s lots of cooking to be done.

So what’s on the menu? Drummond’s Thanksgiving Breakfast Casserole. According to Food Network, she combines sweet and savory flavors using ingredients such as cinnamon raisin English muffins, apples, sausage, and cheese.

Best of all, It’s a make-ahead dish that’s hearty enough to serve alone. Simply prep it the night before and put it in the oven in the morning. Or, for those who need the oven for turkey, bake the casserole in advance and reheat it when it’s time for breakfast.

Others advised modifications such as halving the recipe and using a different type of English muffins besides cinnamon raisin. No matter what the change, almost every reviewer who tweaked the Thanksgiving Breakfast Casserole ended up pleased with the final dish.
