Kenya Moore already let it slip that Kandi Burruss is the highest-paid housewife on RHOA. Burruss’ business acumen outside of the show is impressive. She began as a singer of a hit 90s girl group before transitioning into songwriting and becoming a business owner. Her Bravo spinoff detailing her Atlanta restaurant is already in production. The business world finds Burruss’ success so impressive that college students can now take a class to try and model her success.

A university in Georgia is now offering a class studying Kandi Burruss’ success

Georgia State University’s College of Law is offering a class for law students on Burruss’s life and career. The course is titled “The Legal Life of Kandi Burruss.” The course’s professor, Mo Ivory, has become popular for the course that highlights the success of famous entrepreneurs.

Last semester, students studied the life and career of rapper Ludacris. Ivory says studying Burruss is a no brainer due to Burruss’ massive entertainment profile in music, publishing, and television. Burruss is also a mogul thanks to owning several businesses in Atlanta and beyond.

“This class, and the entire Entertainment, Sports and Media Law Certificate program, gives students a real-world look into client representation, writing and interpreting contracts, negotiating deals, and the personal touch it takes to be successful in this practice area,” Ivory says, as reported by The Jasmine Brand. “These skills aren’t always taught in a traditional law school setting, and I’m looking forward to an exciting semester.”

Burruss is thrilled about the course, revealing on Instagram that she’s honored. According to Burruss, having the proper legal representation in business is the key to success.

“It’s imperative you have the right lawyers around you to assist in making the best decisions. Every contract you sign is building towards [sic] your overall dreams and goals,” she writes. “I’m excited to see the students get a first-hand look into some of the contracts that have shaped my career thus far.”

How Kandi Burruss makes her money

Burruss’s success did not begin with RHOA. She’s been a member of the multi-platinum selling R&B quintet Xscape since the early 90s. The group’s three albums all were hits and the group continues to tour.

Outside of Xscape, Burruss is an accomplished songwriter. She’s penned several hits, including “Bills, Bill, Bills” by Destiny’s Child, “No Scrubs” by TLC, and she also is credited on “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran. Her work on “No Scrubs” earned her a Grammy award.

While filming RHOA, Burruss started her adult toy business, Bedroom Kandi. The line offers adult toys and other pleasure items, consulting, conventions, private events, and more. Burruss is one of the only Black female owners of a successful adult toy line in the country.

Her work with Bedroom Kandi is the inspiration behind her enrolling into classes to become a sexologist, which is defined as an expert of sorts on sex, intimacy, and relationships.

Burruss’s Bravo spinoffs are the highest spinoff specials in Bravo history of any other housewife. She conceptualized each spinoff from start to finish.
