Real Housewives of Atlanta fans are learning more about just how bad things were during Kenya Moore and Marc Daly’s marriage. Moore is currently in the midst of a divorce with Daly and the current season has followed their relationship demise.

In addition to Moore hinting that she was verbally abused at times, a preview for the upcoming episode shows Moore speaking with an attorney and revealing that she was kept at bay from Daly’s family.

Kenya Moore says she was “not allowed” to speak to her husband Marc Daly’s parents

Moore says that though she and Daly began having marital issues, she tried her hardest to keep their relationship intact for the sake of her family, even to the detriment of her personal happiness.

“One of my issues with him is not being able to just have a conversation without yelling or anger or crossing lines. I know it’s not me. And I know how hard I fought for this marriage,” she said in a preview. “I stopped caring about my feelings and trying to be everything he wanted me to be and work through everything as best I could to keep my family together.”

Moore also explained that she had no relationship with Daly’s family, saying, “For example, I’m not allowed to speak to his mother or father.”

Marc Daly’s parents were not at their wedding

Moore and Daly’s wedding was not only a surprise to fans and her co-stars, but also to her family. Daly’s best friend Brandon attended the wedding, as well as her Aunt Lori. Both of whom she shares close relationships with and have appeared on the show with her. Moore’s father, however, was not at the wedding.

“I decided not to invite my father because you never know what he’s going to say,” Moore said in a season 10 confessional of RHOA as reported by People Magazine. “He can’t be controlled. And I didn’t want there to be anything at my wedding to upset my future husband. I didn’t want anything to spoil my wedding day. … I knew that if he said the wrong thing — and I know my husband — [it would mess up everything].”

Moore also said that she tried talking to her father about her desire to elope and he responded by saying “some things that wasn’t necessarily encouraging.” Her decision to not invite her father to her wedding is one that she now regrets.

Like Moore’s family, Daly’s parents were not present during their nuptials. She revealed during the season 10 reunion that she had yet to meet her in-laws, but that she’d spoken to them on the phone.

When asked by Andy Cohen if she felt it was odd that she hadn’t met her husband’s parents, Moore responded, “No, I don’t think so. they live in a different state. I think they were on a cruise at the time [of the wedding].”

With her latest revelation about Daly not allowing her to speak to his parents, her previous statement could have been a tale.
