‘RHOA’ Star Porsha Williams and ‘RHOP’ Star Gizelle Bryant React to Jen Shah’s Arrest
The arrest of Jen Shah rattled the Bravo world to its core. Not only fans were talking about the fraud charges against The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, but other housewives were also enthralled with all the drama. The ladies of Bravo’s Chat Room did not miss a beat and covered the controversy around Shah with Porsha Williams and Gizelle Bryant weighing in.
All the tea into the charges against Jen Shah
Shah was a breakout hit when she burst into the Bravo screens as one of the stars of RHOSLC. However, no one saw what happened to her last week when federal authorities came looking for her to arrest her. She has been accused of a telemarketing fraud scheme where she allegedly conned the elderly to take their money.
Both Shah and her assistant Stuart Smith have been indicted and could face serious time in prison if found guilty. According to the press release, they are “each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing through which they victimized 10 or more persons over the age of 55, which carries a maximum sentence of 30 years, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.”
NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said: “These individuals allegedly targeted and defrauded hundreds of victims but thanks to the hard work of the NYPD and our law enforcement partners, this illegal scheme was brought to an end.”
What did Porsha Williams and Gizelle Bryant say about Jen Shah’s indictment?
The ladies of Bravo’s Chat Room are always on top of the latest happenings in pop culture and they couldn’t miss an opportunity to talk about Shah. Williams from The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Bryant from The Real Housewives of Potomac know what it’s like to be in the middle of controversy, but not to Sha’s level of drama.
“This is a pretty big deal and to have something like this happen during [the] season, everybody’s gonna have an opinion, everybody’s gonna have all eyes on it,” Williams said. “This is gonna be escalated to the next level.”
Bryant jumped in after saying that she found out the RHOSLC was in the middle of filming when Shah got word that they were looking for her.
“Can you imagine you’re filming and you look at your phone you’re read, ‘B*** you’re about to be arrested?’ I mean, that’s like horrible on so many levels,” Bryant added. “I did appreciate her box braids. She took us back to Janet Jackson’s Poetic Justice, honey.”
Hannah Berner of Summer House also joined the conversation to add her take saying, “This is the thing with housewives, that’s so amazing is [that] all the skeletons in your closet will be exposed. The fact that she was doing something that’s allegedly very sketchy and illegal makes me wonder, ‘did she think she was going to get away with it and be on a TV show about her life?'”
Williams finished off by saying, “I just feel like it has to be a misunderstanding. It just has to be.”
