The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are known for their catty fights between themselves and their influence on the culture at large. Both elements were in full display when cast members Lisa Rinna and Kyle Richards showed up to an event wearing identical — and statement-making — black and white polka dot dresses.

This isn’t the first time that Rinna has twinned with another cast member, leading to some speculation over her intentions and source of insider knowledge about wardrobe choices. Whatever the case, anytime not one but two housewives show up wearing the same thing, it’s going to make a splash across the fashion world. In fact, many fans are scrambling to get their hands on the now-iconic dress themselves.

Lisa Rinna and Kyle Richards wore the same dress

Kyle Richards has been a mainstay on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since its 2010 premiere. Since then, the cast has undergone many shake-ups, and Richards remains the only original cast member still on the show. She earned that title when Lisa Vanderpump departed after Season 9. As the longest-standing member of the series, Richards has some gravitas to her status, and that made it particularly shocking when Lisa Rinna — who first appeared as a guest in Season 4 before joining as a regular in Season 5 — showed up in the same dress as Richards.

The event in question was at cast member Sutton Stracke’s house for a “Paris party.” Since COVID-19 still has travel limited, the party was a way to capture some of the glam of Paris without the airfare. Rinna and Richards’ twinning was immediately obvious because they were both wearing a bold statement dress with puff sleeves and black and white polka dots as Big Blonde Hair reports.

The dress is available from Saks Fifth Avenue

Anyone who would like to join in the polka dot dress party can turn to Saks Fifth Avenue for a chance to snag the look — and at a steep discount!

Originally priced at $410, the dress got marked down to $163.98. Alas, it is currently sold out in every single size. It’s quite likely that the popularity sparked by Rinna and Richards’ matching appearance gave the garment a boost in sales. Saks describes the product as a “high-drama midi dress with a feminine polka dot motif and finished with a tie detail at the back.”

It looks like the ladies of RHOBH took the “high-drama” description literally!

Rinna and Richards posed for Instagram pics while Rinna insisted the matching was unplanned. Some are skeptical, however, since this is not the first time Rinna has managed to show up in a matching ensemble.

As People reports, Rinna and Erika Girardi both showed up in pink jacquard blazer dresses to a dinner party caught on Season 10. That look also sold out when the famous ladies showed up sporting the same look, so it’s no surprise that the polka dot dress is now gone from the (virtual) shelves. Rinna and Girardi had also matched once before in flashy leopard-print dresses.

The multiple copycat occurrences had Richards post a snappy (and lighthearted) quip: “This is a case for the fashion police. Rinna has done this too many times with too many people.” Of course, the retailers selling out of these products are probably not complaining about the impact that these impressionable women can have on their bottom line.

Fans may tune in for the drama between the cast members, but the fashion influence of the Real Housewives franchise is undeniable, and when there are two leading ladies showing up in the same look, the influence rises exponentially!
