What happened to Lisa Vanderpump?
TMZ is reporting that Vanderpump suffered an accident while riding her horse. The digital publication says that the reality TV personality was “thrown for a loop on the horse she was riding.” Vanderpump was hospitalized and has several broken bones.
“The equine apparently got spooked, reared up, and bucked her off. An eyewitness tells us she flew over the horse’s head and landed squarely on her back,” the TMZ report says.

Lisa Vanderpump lobbied to not raise minimum wages
Vanderpump had previously made the news late in 2021 when she was fighting for her businesses. As a restauranteur, Vanderpump needs to keep her restaurant business profitable so she can continue to provide a pleasant experience to her customers. The PUMP, TomTom, and SUR owner, recently faced backlash after it was reported she lobbied against raising the minimum wage in West Hollywood.
“I just implore you to really give this a lot of thought because I do believe if we raise the minimum wage now it’s going to be counterproductive,” Vanderpump said during the virtual meeting (via KTTV).
Vanderpump was fighting against a mandate to raise minimum wages that would benefit the employees but would be more costly to her margins. Many people on social media called out the entrepreneur and she released a statement saying she was not opposed to the minimum wage hike and clarified her stance.
“I do not oppose raising minim wage, that’s not what I said, tipped employees do not work for minimum wage, A tier [sic] structure would work for all, I do believe WEHO lawyers are looking into that,” she tweeted.
Lisa Vanderpump mourning the loss of her dog
In December of 2021, Vanderpump announced on Instagram that her dog named Rumpy had died. The animal activist is a dog lover and even has a foundation called Vanderpump Dogs that focuses on dog rescues. Vanderpump had been traveling across the pond but was still able to see Rumpy one last time before his death.
“What a lovely boy, Rumpy passed away from cancer a few hours after we returned from London .. he waited for us. We will always love him,” Vanderpump shared on Instagram.
Lastly, another devasting loss for Vanderpump was her dog Giggy, who was the face of all of her work fighting for animal rights. Giggy died a year prior to Rumpy — back in December 2020.
