‘RHOBH’ Season 12 Is Not the First Time Sisters Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards Stopped Speaking
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards are the subject of new rumors. But the claims are quite familiar. As soon as the RHOBH season 12 trailer dropped — which featured a heated confrontation between Kathy, Kyle, and Lisa Rinna — an insider claimed that Kathy and Kyle had stopped speaking. But this isn’t the first time that’s happened.

The ladies of RHOBH are back for another season. And joining Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Sutton Stracke, Garcelle Beauvais, Dorit Kemsley, and Erika Jayne in the main cast this time around is Diane Jenkins.
Kathy Hilton will be back as a friend of the show for another season, along with Sheree Zampino. And Faye Resnick will return as a guest star.
All of the ladies showed up in the recent season 12 RHOBH trailer. But towards the end of the clip, it was Kathy and Kyle’s relationship that was front and center. Tensions were high as Lisa tells Kathy: “You said some things about this beautiful sister of yours. I’m sorry, Kathy, you’re not going to get away with it.”
Then, Kyle tells her sister, “I feel like you hate me or something. How could you say those things?”
This isn’t the first time Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards have stopped speaking
After the season 12 trailer dropped, Bravo and Cocktails published a blind claim that Kathy and Kyle were currently not on speaking terms. It read in part, “The elder sister is not talking to her youngest sister. She blames her for the ladies piling on her.”
Kathy also gave an interview to Entertainment Tonight, where she confessed that she was not speaking to one of her co-stars.
“We have a great time together, and when you’re spending so much time together, you’re bound to have a little… a little drama,” Kathy said.
It’s not clear what specifically caused this current rift between Kathy and Kyle. And we should point out that neither sister has confirmed they are on the outs again. But it’s starting to become clear that something is going on between Kathy and Kyle. And it’s not the first time.
The ‘RHOBH’ stars feuded for a decade
Most RHOBH fans know that Kathy and Kyle had a falling out that turned into a decade-long feud. During the season 8 reunion, Kyle admitted that she hadn’t talked to Kathy in at least six months because she was producing the TV show American Woman. Which was inspired by their mom — known as Big Kathy — and her experience of being a single mom in the 70s.
But their feud goes back even longer — all the way to season 1 of RHOBH — when Kyle outed their other sister Kim Richards as an alcoholic during a tense limo fight. After that, Kyle’s husband left the real estate firm owned by Kathy’s husband to start his own luxury real estate firm, The Agency.
“My husband for years worked for my brother-in-law. Then he went off on his own like people do,” Kyle explained during a 2018 episode of RHOBH. “That doesn’t always work well in the family dynamic, and it can complicate things. I love my sisters a lot. It’s very complicated.”
The half-sisters and their husbands seemingly worked their issues out before Kathy joined the show in season 11. But it appears that things have soured once again in season 12.
