Like many people in the spotlight, Alexis Bellino from The Real Housewives of Orange County gets her fair share of hate.

The former RHOC cast member recently posted to her Instagram about having compassion and kindness rather than hurling hatred her way. She recently posted about how she tripped and gave herself a black eye. Bellino was clearly being playful in her post but she then received a string of hateful and mean messages as a result.

While Bellino also received supportive or kind responses, she shared that people also implied that her boyfriend gave her the injury and they had broken up. She asked social media followers to unfollow her if they felt compelled to send her hate. She also reminded followers she now has a son on Instagram who didn’t need to see mean messages being directed toward his mother.

Bellino wants the rumors to stop

Bellino was trying to relate to followers by sharing a story about how she was being clumsy. But the shares backfired as the more she shared, the more social media followers made accusations.

She shared a photo with boyfriend Drew Bohn. “Lots of you asking where my Drew is on my social media especially “since my black eye” and inferring it was him and we are broken up. Well the rumors can stop here. 😝My black eye that I caused myself is healed. I had a 10 hour press day in LA today.”

Bellino continued, “Drew worked all day and is now preparing for a 24 mile hike up a mountain at 3am with two buddies. I’m so proud of you babesy. I can’t wait to see you in a few hours and hold you all night after your incredible journey. And don’t worry, I’ll nurse you back to health. I love you Drew Bohn.”

Haters will be blocked

Everyone in the public eye deals with trolls and social media hatred differently. Bellino wanted haters to know she is now going to just block people who make disparaging comments.

She posted her thoughts on Instagram and made an additional remark. “I don’t need followers. If you are on this page then it’s about love and happiness. Otherwise, find another person to follow. There are plenty. I have a son now on Instagram and he doesn’t need to see what some of you say.”

Bellino may find some relief by blocking people. Jax Taylor from Vanderpump Rules is notorious for the quick block, even blocking Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck. He also blocked fellow castmates for some time too. “I go through my phases in social media, usually when it’s after a couple drinks and then I’ll go through the blocking phase,” he shared with Us Weekly. “Andy Cohen always tells me just to mute people and say, ‘Don’t give people the satisfaction. You should just mute them.’ But no, I’d rather block them, because they think they’re being cute, so I’m just going to block them. They want to say something and see what they can get away with, so I block them. As far as blocking my castmates, I’ve unblocked one of them, Kristen, and two others are still blocked and they’re going to stay blocked.”
