RHOM’s Nicole Martin Responds to Alexia and Lisa’s ‘WWHL’ Engagement Shade – ‘I Found Out About Alexia’s Wedding Online Too’ (Exclusive)

Dr. Lisa Martin from 'RHOM' said the shade from Alexia Echevarria and Lisa Hochstein on 'WWHL' about her engagement was a little over the top considering she found out about Echevarria's wedding online too.

Dr. Nicole Martin said the shade from her Real Housewives of Miami co-stars on Bravo‘s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen was a little over the top, especially when it came to how they found out about her engagement.

Alexia Echevarria and Lisa Hochstein from RHOM said they were surprised to learn about Martin’s engagement online. “I spoke to her three times since she got engaged and she did not tell me. I found out like everyone else online,” Hochstein said on WWHL.

Echevarria chimed in, “So it was just her, her fiancé, the baby, and like a reporter from People.” But Echevarria and Hochstein both said they were happy for Martin.

Martin said she got a lot of heat for announcing her engagement via People magazine. “I got a lot of heat for announcing my engagement on People magazine,” she told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “But I can tell you that Alexia eloped, got married in St Barths, and we all including Guerdy [Abraira], who was her wedding planner, found out on US Weekly. So, you know, let’s not throw too much shade my way. Alexia did the same exact thing with her wedding. I just thought this is the way this group rolls.”

“I found out about Alexia’s wedding online too so let’s not go too far on the engagement guys,” she added.

Nicole said she doesn’t know why Alexia would question if she’d be invited to her wedding

WWHL host Andy Cohen asked Echevarria if she’ll be invited to the wedding. “Well, I think it says a lot about her because if you’re like all season saying that you don’t need to get married. And you’re in such a great place. And it’s not important to you,” Echevarria remarked.

Adding, “I would only want to be there if she would want me to be there,” Echevarria said about being invited to Martin’s wedding.

Martin doesn’t know why Echevarria would question if she would be invited to her wedding. “I don’t know why she would think that she wouldn’t be getting an invite to the wedding,” Martin said. “On the contrary, you know, we were all supposed to go to her wedding and unfortunately, due to life circumstances and the passing of her mom, which is so bad. Her wedding was canceled.”

Echevarria and her husband Todd Nepola married in an intimate ceremony in St Barths in December.

Dr. Nicole Martin from ‘RHOM’ says fiancé Anthony Lopez ordered her ring months ago

Echevarria and Hochstein thought the timing of Martin’s engagement was “suspect.” But Martin said it was the first time in her family’s life that they could stop and take a breath.

“You know, we’ve obviously we’ve been together for a long time,” she said about fiancé Anthony Lopez. “We’ve talked about it before and it was never about being against getting married. It was really just about like, ‘Hey, it’s not a priority for us. It’s not something that we need to be happy. We got together.’ We really wanted to focus on having a family who, you know, we went ahead and we had Greyson and we’ve been having so much fun raising him.”

“And then we wanted to remodel and get our dream house, so we focused on that,” she continued. “And then the show started, and that took up a lot of time. So I feel like we were always focused on something else. And I’m guessing, you know, once the show wrapped up and the dust settled, he was like, ‘Alright, like, this feels like a good time. We did everything that we wanted to do.’ And I guess it felt right and we decided to start this new chapter.”

Did going on the show have anything to do with the engagement? Martin said some of the women on the show did ask a lot of questions. “Honestly, I’m not sure, but he said that he had ordered this ring months ago,” she shared. “I don’t know if that played into the decision. but I’m sure being questioned every day by these women about our relationship and maybe, maybe that was a little like sort of pressure and he felt like his hand was to the fire.”
