Real Housewives of New Jersey star Delores Catania has been with her boyfriend David Principe for almost three years. Fans have spoken out against their relationship, feeling as if David is dragging her along but she insists she’s happy. They appeared to be moving towards commitment by potentially moving in together but Delores recently revealed she’s decided against it.
Delores Catania and David Principe have an unconventional relationship
Though she’s been divorced from her ex-husband Frank for almost 20-years, the two still live together in their marital home and are business partners. Together, they build custom homes and buy homes to flip and sell for profit. Frank is building a home for Delores’s boyfriend current, David – who revealed on camera that he wanted to share the home with Delores.
David lives by himself but this season, he moved into the home Delores and Frank share. When David is unable to filming events with Delores, she takes Frank as her plus one. Many are dying for Delores to bid farewell to David and give Frank another chance but she says that’s not an option.
Delores spoke about her love for David to Bravo in 2017, saying:
“He’s very good. His first love is his job and that’s a lot to handle because this is a man that works seven days a week. He’s on call constantly. Yet I’m very attracted to this man. I have a good time with him when I see him at 10 o’clock at night and I wait in front of his house for him to get home.”

Delores Catania is getting her own place instead of moving in with David Principe
Delores has been pressuring David to spend more time with her after constantly being put off for work. The idea of them living together has been explored throughout the entire season and though she was open to the idea at first, Delores recently revealed that she’s had a full change of heart about moving in with David.
“I got an apartment in the city. I always dreamed about living in the city,” she told The New York Post. The former cop revealed that her new pad is in New York City’s Financial District, and that she’ll move in this May and stay through the summer. As far as living with David, she said, “David will probably be moving into his house, like, this week…I’m finally just getting used to my freedom.”

Viewers have followed Delores’s journey with David since she began appearing on the show as a full-time housewife. They’ve dated for several years and Delores has been uncertain of her future with David as he rarely appears on the show due to his busy job as a doctor.
They’ve decided to take their relationship to the next level, with David building a new home for himself and Delores. However, Delores has been hesitant on whether or not she would move into the home and her close friends and family have questioned David’s intentions.
David promised to be more available for Delores and his confirmation that his home is for the two of them to share seemed to be a good sign that things were moving in the right direction. But Delores’s new bachelor pad in NYC raises the question of what the status of her relationship with David is.
Viewers did watch Delores struggle with whether or not she wanted a larger commitment from David…a ring. When asked if his lack of proposal contributed to her decision to move to NYC, she denied it.
“It’s not just a ring. I think that even if there was — I think it’s the timing for me,” she admitted. “He didn’t. And I’m kind of glad he didn’t because now my mindset isn’t there anymore.”
Delores says she’s choosing to focus on herself for the first time in her life before taking things further with David.
“The first half of my life was for everyone: my kids, my family, my ex-husband, anybody who was in my life,” she said. “Before I have that [again], I would like to get to know myself better. I’m working with a shaman. I’m doing a lot of spiritual stuff. I’m a devout Catholic, but I think there’s so much more to learn, and I want a clear mind before I make any other decisions in my life.”
Delores said that she and David and still together, confirming she is “not single” but not rushing into an engagement or marriage.
