Jennifer Aydin and the rest of the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey filmed the new season in the middle of a pandemic. As a society we are all learning to cope with taking extra precautions, home-schooling, working from home, and handling new family dynamics. Starring in one of Bravo’s popular shows has the advantage of being able to mingle with your co-stars and have fun for the enjoyment of the viewers. This has lead Aydin to get “turned up” on occasions and is now being accused of alcoholism.

Jennifer Aydin is under a lot of stress

In the RHONJ Season 11 trailer, viewers get a glimpse that Aydin’s sobriety will come into question. Aydin is seen getting tipsy and on the floor from allegedly drinking too much. During our interview with the Bravo star, the reality TV personality was confused as to why she was being labeled an “alcoholic” for having fun.

Aydin told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that she doesn’t understand why when “getting super drunk and throwing up transfers into being an alcoholic.”

“I hadn’t been drinking. My tolerance level is extremely low. Maybe I got tipsy a little too fast,” she continued. “But you know what? I haven’t been out and about with my husband and I’m dealing with stresses at home, homeschooling five children, not having a housekeeper or nanny, having to take care and maintain this huge house that I’m not used to doing. I’m doing it but I’m stressed out. I have two parents now that have become two additional children for me to look after and referee. So excuse me, if I want to get turned up a little bit at a party. It is a party and we’re here to have a good time. And that’s what I did.”

Jennifer Aydin denies ‘being an alcoholic’

Aydin made sure to point out that she is not abusing alcohol and said she doesn’t understand why she’s being called that.

“I don’t know when having a good time translates to being an alcoholic,” she added. “I don’t know how that theory came about. I’m not an alcoholic, I am a social drinker. Sometimes I like to have a good time and get turned up. But you know, what? If you want to party with anyone on the show from the housewives, I’m your girl.”

Furthermore, Aydin said that her husband has been by her side when she “turns up” and it’s her prerogative to do so as she is of age to make her own decisions.

“The times that I did drink, I had my husband with me,” Aydin said. “Bill is like my protector. I look at him as my knight in shining armor. So I know if something happens, I know I’m not driving. I know my man is here to take care of me. And you know, the last time I checked, I am 21 and over. If I want to have cocktails and get turned up and throw up in the corner, that’s my business.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
