Giudice was deported to his home country of Italy after serving prison time for fraud. He recently reacted to the coronavirus outbreak and subsequent complete country shutdown on Instagram. Giudice is now posting Instagram videos almost as a video journal of his experience.

He initially believed everyone was overreacting when the country went into shutdown mode. But since sharing his initial thoughts, Giudice has continued to live his life, sharing a number of videos along the way.

Giudice demonstrates how to find wild asparagus

Who knew? Giudice shared a few videos showing how to identify and pick wild asparagus. “We’re hunting for asparagus,” he shares as he talks to another man digging into the side of a hill. “Those are wild asparagus.”

As the man digs into the hill, he produces a single stalk and shows the camera. Giudice can’t help but joke. “Awe what are we gonna do with that? Pick our teeth?” Giudice shares another video, showing the man really getting into the wild crop. “Hold on, we got another asparagus here!” Giudice narrates. “That’s it? How are we gonna eat with these little asparaguses?”

Giudice is amazed with how well his friend can spot the plant, which is buried underneath stalks and weeds. But his friend continues to pull wild asparagus from the land as Giudice marvels at his skills. “They are not easy to spot out experience !!!” he wrote along with another video.

After asparagus hunting, Giudice also happens upon a religious statue. He shot another video where he prayed for the coronavirus to go away. “All these amazing places are right here in Sala Consilina. Praying 🙏 for cure and ☮️.”

He’s adjusting to the new normal in Italy

Despite being initially annoyed, Giudice is assimilating to life on shutdown. “Today they literally shut everything down,” Giudice said in one of his Instagram videos. “Basically they’re containing this virus. I guess it’s good, in a way.” Adding, “Better to do something than nothing. I can’t just sit in the house all day.”

“It’s crazy,” Giudice added. “You gotta do what you gotta do. It sucks but it is what it is. Be safe. Wash your hands.”

Later, he shared more videos and seemed to find ways to occupy his time. “We are up here in the mountains, staying out of the towns, cafes, and everything else. Having a little card game,” he said as he puffed on a cigar.

Amid the panic and darkness, fans are enjoying Giudice’s posts. “I really enjoy watching this new journey of yours it’s so bittersweet but thank God the foundation you built with your daughters the love that you all share is solid and will last a lifetime and I hope you find happiness in that beautiful country that you live in now!!❤️🙏🏼,” one person wrote on a recent post.
