Ramona Singer from The Real Housewives of New York City has been saying controversial things during the quarantine. The Bravo star had been sheltering in Florida where many criticize her for not wearing a mask and not social distancing. On top of that, she was one the celebrities saying “All Lives Matter” during the Black Lives Matter protests. This has led many to believe she’s racist and she’s finally breaking her silence on the issue.

Ramona Singer commits a faux pas

At the end of May of this year, the Black Lives Matter movement reemerged after the death of George Floyd. As the protests took over major cities across the United States, social media was rampant with support. There were some people that didn’t understand what BLM meant and the RHONY star committed a faux pas.

A fan on Instagram called out Singer for not raising her voice in support of Black Lives Matter. In response to the follower she wrote, “all lives matter.” This message made many people upset causing a backlash for the RHONY star. She then posted the video in support of the movement but disabled comments on Instagram.

Fans slammed Singer for being tone-deaf and not informing herself about the social movement. Days later she apologized and said that her daughter Avery was helping her understand the protests. Singer didn’t comprehend that saying Black Lives Matter didn’t mean that other lives didn’t matter.

Recently a fan commented on an Instagram post made by Singer. In the publication, the follower made Singer aware that people on social media were calling her a “racist.” The fan also suggested that the season Singer was at odds with co-star Leah McSweeney was because she openly supported social causes like BLM.

“Not at all,” was Singer’s response.

Leah McSweeney and Ramona Singer are at odds

McSweeney and Singer have not seen eye-to-eye since the former joined RHONY. In an incident this season, Singer organized a trip for a girls getaway. When McSweeney got too happy drinking, she completely went off the rails and Singer was not too fond of her attitude.

When Singer and her daughter Avery were watching the show on Bravo, they reacted to the episode on Instagram. Avery is heard saying that it was embarrassing the way McSweeney was acting. However, when the latter saw these comments, she fired back on social media as well.

“Ramona, are you sure you wanna involve Avery Singer in our drama? She’s 25 so she’s fair game to me. In fact, I’m closer in age to her [than] I am to you,” McSweeney wrote.

“Seriously, why are you involving [your] daughter?” a second message read.

“Avery Singer, sit down sweetie,” read a third message where she mentioned Singer’s daughter.

McSweeney had her sister to back her up and gave some insight into what happened during their trip to Newport, Rhode Island.

“OMG you are embarrassed by my sister for entertaining you all at that boring dinner party?” Sarah replied in a post that Singer later deleted. “I was embarrassed when you pooped your pants the next night at dinner and were still prancing around trying to flirt with drunk married men with ‘soiled’ pants on.”
