Eboni K. Williams from The Real Housewives of New York City recently said a reunion may have helped the cast to have closure and she still hasn’t spoken to Luann de Lesseps since they stopped filming. Williams and de Lesseps experienced tension that was never resolved. So where do they go from here since the reunion was canceled?

Is Eboni K. Williams from not speaking to Luann de Lesseps?

Williams said the only cast member she no longer speaks to is de Lesseps. She also feels as though they still have unfinished business. “I’m not one to sit around biting my tongue,” she said on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. “We know that. So it’s not, I don’t have anything at all to get off of my chest. I think the one person I’ve literally had zero communication with since May is Luann.”

“And you know, there’s a lot of noise, you know, and people talk a lot and she said this and that,” Williams said. “And it’s like, you know, I don’t play in that sandbox. You know, I don’t do the mess. So I would’ve looked forward to the opportunity to look my castmate, who for, for better or for worse, we completed, you know, an unprecedented season of filming the show in a pandemic together. We did that.”

Does Eboni K. Williams have unfinished business because the ‘RHONY’ reunion was canceled?

Despite having no communication, Williams said she does respect de Lesseps. “I have mutual respect for her as such,” she remarked. “And how are you feeling, you know, ask her those questions. How are you feeling? What is it that you might want to express to me about your perception as to the episode what’s happened since, and just share any thoughts? Because I think that’s, what’s productive is being direct with your feelings, whatever they are with the person you actually have the feeling toward.”

Williams still insists she got some closure she needed from the season as a whole. “I do [feel as though I have closure],” she said. “And I’ve expressed that to all parties involved. And I think that the reunion would have been wonderful for a lot of different reasons. Not just for me.”

“I think a reunion would have been fantastic for the viewers, you know, no matter,” she added. “You know, they absolutely love this season. If they felt frustration or confusion around this season. I think many people at minimum had unanswered questions around this season. And I think, excuse me, the reunion would have done a lot of good by way of being able to open up the opportunity to have exchange and dialogue. And for me also to do a lot of listening. You know, there is really been no conversation at all between me and some of these castmates since May.”

Why did Luann de Lesseps and Eboni K. Williams from have tension this season?

So why the tension between de Lesseps and Williams? De Lesseps referred to Williams as “angry” when chatter got a little intense with the women during a trip to the Hamptons this season. When education level came into play and Williams cited her law degree, de Lesseps got annoyed and suggested she leave.

Later, de Lesseps apologized. But she also suggested that Williams apologize, which didn’t sit well. “Black people, and Black women in particular, are constantly asked to apologize for white folks uncomfortability,” she told Insider.

“What you saw on my face was a negotiation I was having within myself around the most productive way to respond to that request that would let her know how inappropriate the request was and also why it was an inappropriate expectation,” she continued.
