Sunny Hostin is one of the beloved co-hosts on The View and is a ray of light every morning. The former prosecutor always lays down the law and fans love her convictions and ability to have fun on the show. With Meghan McCain gone from the talk show, producers have been testing out replacements for the conservative seat. However, a new report suggests The Real Housewives of New York City star Eboni K. Williams has her eyes set on Hostin’s seat.

Only one vacant seat at ‘The View’

Producers at The View have invited many personalities to fill in as the fifth panelist on the hit talk show. Following McCain’s exit, the show doesn’t have a conservative voice and is looking to hire someone that can opine from that perspective. Williams was one of the celebrities that was given an opportunity to take a seat with Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, and Hostin.

The RHONY housewife has broadcast experience from her interventions on Fox News. However, a new report is suggesting Williams, an attorney, is vying for the seat Hostin currently holds and not McCain’s. Despite Williams’ wishes, an insider told Daily Mail that “there is only one vacant chair at this show – and it’s Meghan’s.”

“Sunny is a very popular host. She’s loved on set and she gets along with her cohosts, she’s also just signed a long-term deal with The View and Disney has given her a production deal,” the source told the publication where McCain is also a columnist.

‘The View’ would be a dream job for Eboni K. Williams

Just recently, Williams talked to Entertainment Tonight about her guest appearance on The View saying “it was an amazing two days.”

“It’s the dream job, it is,” the reality star said. “Ever since I was 12 years old, and I always wanted to be an attorney, so seeing Star Jones in that seat and showing what one could do on a national platform, with that background of law and social justice, integrating it with politics and pop culture, from a woman’s perspective, it was an honor.”

Williams said that her goal was to do a good job at the table so producers would eventually keep inviting her back to land the job.

Eboni K. Williams denies allegations

Williams has already shut down the claims that she is vying to take Hostin’s role at The View.

“It’s a very unfortunate repetition of a tired narrative that works overtime to pit accomplished black women against each other,” she said in a statement to Daily Mail. “Sunny has been a mentor to me since I started my career on television. I only have the most wonderful things to say about her.”

The Bravo star also acknowledged she’s not a conservative and is registered as an independent. Another source at the alphabet network allegedly said that ABC has “zero interest in hiring” Williams as they are looking for a “real conservative.”

For the time being, the only official co-hosts at Goldberg, Haines, Behar, and Hostin. Ana Navarro is an official guest co-host and joins the rest of the panel once or twice a week. The latter has been a regular Friday staple when Goldberg takes the day off.

The View airs weekday mornings at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT on ABC.
