‘RHOP’: Ashley Darby Thinks It’s ‘Only a Matter of Time’ Until Wendy Osefo and Candiace Dillard Fall Out
The Real Housewives of Potomac star Ashley Darby seemingly signaled the end of a friendship with Candiace Dillard by writing a statement against the housewife in support of Monique Samuels. When reacting to Wendy Osefo getting involved, Darby noted she thought it’s “only a matter of time” until Dillard and the newest housewife have a falling out as well.

Former close friends Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels got into a heated argument at a winery that turned physical when Samuels grabbed Dillard by the hair and hit her on the back of the head several times.
Robyn Dixon, Gizelle Bryant, and Wendy Osefo backed Dillard while Ashley Darby and Karen Huger chose to stand by Samuels’ side, dividing the group. Believing the Not For Lazy Moms owner felt no remorse for her actions, Dillard decided to pursue the matter legally.
Samuels countered, resulting in a second-degree assault charge against both of them. To strengthen her case, the podcast host asked Darby to write a statement detailing her negative interactions with Dillard, including the infamous butter knife incident from last season and cutting tweets the former Miss United States posted.
Dillard and Osefo didn’t react well to Darby’s confession
According to Darby, she obliged and wrote the statement because she wanted to prevent Samuels from going to jail. Additionally, the 32-year-old wanted to repay loyalty from Samuels for having her back last season.
During the cast trip to Portugal, Darby told Bryant and Dixon about the statement before coming clean to Dillard in front of the other housewives. She detailed what she included in the letter to the courts, upsetting the former Miss United States.
Dillard felt like Darby shouldn’t have gotten involved because she didn’t see the fight and thought she wrote the statement to get back at her. The other ladies didn’t like Darby’s move either and felt the 32-year-old should have vouched for Samuels instead of tearing Dillard’s character down.
Osefo called Darby a “snake” for writing the statement.
Darby predicts Osefo and Dillard will have a falling out
During the Bravo After Show, Darby explained she became “nervous” to tell Dillard about the letter because she knew she would have to “justify” her actions in front of the group.
She also admitted Osefo’s “snake” comment initially upset her but claimed she got over it because she doesn’t care what the newest housewife thinks about her.
Additionally, Darby insisted she only “bit” out of retaliation because she feels Dillard came at her first when she and her husband, Chris Bassett, got involved with a now dismissed inappropriate touching case against Michael Darby. She also revealed she used the statement as “vindication” against Dillard for the hurtful things she claims the former Miss United States did to her.
When it comes to Osefo and Dillard, the 32-year-old admitted she thinks it’s “only a matter of time” until the friends have a falling out. Because the former Miss United States also previously had a close friendship with Darby and Samuels before it soured, history might repeat itself with Osefo.
