In 2018, the Howard University graduate joined Season 3 of RHOP after Charrisse Jackson Jordan went from full-time cast member to “friend” of the show.

She became very close with housewife Monique Samuels, and the women developed a sister-like relationship. However, they fell out during the following season when Samuels befriended Ashley Darby, someone Dillard didn’t get along with and refused to pick sides as the former Miss United States demanded.

While filming for Season 5, the women got into a physical altercation, and Dillard pressed charges on Samuels, accusing her ex-friend of attacking her. The mother-of-three then counter filed, but the court dropped the charges after they reviewed the footage and conducted interviews.

While Samuels celebrated the victory, Dillard wasn’t happy, and her lawyer insinuated they would sue civilly.

‘RHOP’ fans trolled Candiace Dillard online after the fight

Once news of the fight broke, RHOP fans overwhelmingly took Samuels’ side as they believe she always provokes conflicts and “can dish it but can’t take it.”

Additionally, the former Miss United States grabbed a knife during an argument with Darby in Season 4, which portrayed her as a violent person. Therefore, some fans thought she “had it coming.”

Many RHOP viewers tweeted they would boycott the series if Bravo fired Samuels and think Dillard should be the one dismissed. Several fans also perceive the 33-year-old as spoiled and childish, and they don’t think Samuels would have attacked her unprovoked.

Finally, viewers disagreed with Dillard’s decision to take the fight to the courts because they believe she’s “all mouth.”

Candiace Dillard clapped back at a fan on Instagram

While Dillard has always dealt with trolls on social media, it intensified after everyone found out she pressed charges on Samuels. Comments regarding Dillard’s relationship with her mother turned into hateful remarks about her personality and desire to see the former beauty pageant removed from the series.

On January 11, 2020, an RHOP viewer responded to one of the housewife’s tweets, saying she wanted Dillard off the show. The former Miss United States answered by calling the user a “follower” and saying she “refuses to take her seriously.”

When the viewer claimed that “without us followers,” Dillard wouldn’t have a show and “would still be begging mama for every dime,” the Atlanta native called her a “rodent looking a*s fan” and told her to “scurry along.”

The user then shot back that she is still “a good human” regardless of her appearance and ended with #TeamMonique. Dillard responded, “You’re a ‘good human being’ attacking a b***h you watch on TV over s**t you know nothing about? Where do you people create these delusions? You’re trash. Your ‘team’ just makes you more so.”

After that interaction, the former Miss United States has seemingly avoided engaging with trolls until someone told her to “grow up and go away” under her most recent Instagram picture.

“You’re on my page,” the housewife responded. “How should I go away from my space? Has being so ugly inside also made you less than smart?” Real Housewives of Potomac returns in Spring 2020.
