Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels’ physical altercation divided group

After failing to repair their fractured friendship, Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels came to blows at a winery during the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. The two got into a heated argument, and Dillard put her hands in Samuels’ face.

Then, the mother-of-three claims she “blacked out” and repeatedly hit her former friend in the back of the head. Samuels later met with the other housewives at Karen Huger’s home and tried to apologize.

Ashley Darby and Huger wanted to support Samuels, whereas Wendy Osefo, Robyn Dixon, and Gizelle Bryant felt the mother-of-three needed to own up to her mistakes first. Samuels admitted she had no remorse for the situation at the time, which Dixon related to Dillard.

After Huger told her she would have pressed charges if she were in the same position and learning that Samuels didn’t feel bad, the former Miss United States decided to pursue legal action, which further divided the group.

Samuels on feeling ‘iced out’ by the other ladies

A few weeks following the fight, Samuels personally called the other housewives and invited them to her live podcast so they could witness the “growth” they wanted to see from her.

However, all the ladies, except Darby and Huger, the latter of which couldn’t make it due to a sickness, decided to pass on the event.

When speaking to Darby before the show began, she told her she extended the invite to the rest of the ladies for support and so they can see how she’s grown since the incident.

She also admitted she feels “iced out” by the other ladies. Even though the mother-of-three acknowledged she shouldn’t have gotten physical with her former friend, she told Darby the matter had turned legal, so it’s out of her hands.

Dillard calls Samuels out for ‘crying’ about ‘being iced out’

The former pageant queen live-tweeted during the episode and remarked on Samuels’ “iced out” comment. The 33-year-old accused the mother-of-three of doing the same thing and “championing” for other housewives to ignore Dillard “several weeks prior.”

Additionally, the former pageant beauty felt Samuels attempted to turn the public opinion against her before the season began by leaking one-sided details about the fight to blogs and making sly comments about the altercation on social media.

Following the episode, the RHOP ladies appeared on the Bravo After Show, where Samuels spoke about feeling “iced out” by the others. She stated she recognized them rejecting her invitation as the first moment she realized they were trying to kick her out of the group.

However, Osefo and Dixon insisted that they didn’t show up because they didn’t believe Samuels changed in only a couple of weeks. The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
