Candiace Dillard fuels rumors that she’s leaving ‘RHOP’ with a recent tweet

Shortly after a source claimed The Real Housewives of Potomac producers fired Candiace Dillard ahead of the upcoming season 7, the Mississippi native quickly responded, shooting down the rumors.

However, a couple of weeks later, on March 3, Dillard seemed to imply the reports could be true as she tweeted, “Well. When one door closes, another door opens.”

Due to the timing, many fans believed she referred to RHOP as the now-closed door she referenced in her tweet. Some think the 35-year-old fueled the rumors to stay relevant because the original report of her possibly getting fired trended on Twitter.

However, others pointed out that Dillard is involved in other projects outside of the reality series, including music, television shows, and movies that she could have referred to in the tweet.

An anonymous source claimed Dillard got fired from ‘RHOP’ ahead of season 7

In Feb. 2022, an anonymous source emailed spoiler account Bravo and Cocktails that a “problematic east coast Housewife” might not return for another season.

“With filming slated to begin within the next month or so, producers have finally recognized that the trouble she has caused/has gotten herself” isn’t painting the franchise in the best light.

Additionally, the source claimed the network has felt “pressure” from some viewers who want her fired, doesn’t think Dillard will accept responsibility or accountability for her “share of mistakes, and believes she might continue causing and getting into “unnecessary trouble.”

Therefore, the insider believes Bravo will not bring the former pageant queen back for another season. Dillard quickly refuted the rumors, taking to Twitter, “you all really want me to be that girl, don’t you?”

Some fans have wanted Dillard to leave the show

Many viewers initially liked Dillard when she joined the cast in season 3. She quickly developed a close friendship with Monique Samuels that went downhill the following season when Samuels befriended her “rival,” Ashley Darby.

Unable to work out their differences, the ladies eventually came to blows at a winery, resulting in the show’s first physical altercation.

While the majority agreed the fight should’ve never escalated to the point it did, many thought Dillard still held some level of culpability. Samuels left RHOP, but Dillard remained in the center of the drama during season 6. The 35-year-old and Mia Thornton got off on the wrong foot, and their relationship worsened when the newcomer made comments about Dillard’s “low budget” music video.

Feeling offended, the former pageant queen shot back, “your mama’s low budget,” upsetting Thornton, whose mother is in recovery. After several arguments about the fight throughout the season, the two finally made up. Due to many fans feeling that Dillard didn’t “learn her lesson” after the physical altercation with Samuels, repeatedly making remarks that hit below the belt during season 6, and not owning up to anything, they have expressed their opinions that she shouldn’t return to RHOP.
