After their close friendship fell apart throughout the fourth season, Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard came to blows in The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5. Initially set to premiere May 3, 2020, fans will have to wait a few more months to see the most explosive season yet as Bravo delayed it due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In a tweet announcing the postponement of the series, Samuels colored over two of her castmates’ faces as she didn’t “need their faces on my page.”

‘RHOP’ Season 5 premiere delayed

According to inside sources, the highly anticipated fifth season premiere of Real Housewives of Potomac has been postponed for at least a couple of months due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Bravo initially announced the show would return on May 3, 2020. However, they are expected to give an exact date tomorrow for when fans can expect to see the series.

Even though filming has wrapped on RHOP Season 5, it’s speculated that the network is rescheduling the premiere to make sure they have fresh continuous Sunday night content throughout the summer. Married to Medicine Season 2 will still return on May 3rd as scheduled.

RHOP star Monique Samuels announced the news on her Twitter with a cast picture where she crossed out Gizelle Bryant and Candiace Dillard’s faces.

Monique Samuels’ issues with Gizelle Bryant and Candiace Dillard

The mother-of-three and former First Lady had problems ever since the second season when Samuels joined the cast. They started on the wrong foot when Bryant shadily implied the mother-of-three didn’t have a house during their first meeting. Then, Samuels kicked her out of her home as she didn’t appreciate Bryant’s attitude.

In the third season, the Not For Lazy Moms owner butt heads with Bryant’s best friend, Robyn Dixon. The ladies did not see eye to eye as Dixon believed Samuels judged her for her financial situation, resulting in a verbal altercation where the podcaster threatened to “choke” the original housewife with an umbrella.

Then, Samuels, alongside Charrisse Jackson Jordan, who also had issues with the Green-Eyed Bandit at the time, began hanging out with the ex-wife of Bryant’s then-boyfriend, Sherman Douglas.

The move caused tension between the ladies again, but they seemingly settled it during a cast trip to France. When Candice Dillard first joined the Real Housewives of Potomac in Season 3, she and Samuels immediately hit it off and became good friends.

However, their friendship deteriorated in the following season when Dillard felt like the mother-of-three began purposely hanging out with her nemesis, Ashley Darby.

Even though the ladies showed interest in patching up their relationship at the Season 4 reunion, it didn’t last as they got into a physical altercation during the filming of the following season.

According to sources, Bryant, Dillard, and Dixon all refused to film with Samuels after the fight because they wanted her fired. At the same time, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, and the newest housewife Wendy Osefo continued to shoot with the mother-of-three.

It’s unclear if Dixon and Samuels are now on good terms as she didn’t cover her face like she did Dillard and Bryant. More details surrounding the explosive fight and subsequent blowup will be revealed in the fifth season.

In an April 23rd tweet, Samuels announced the postponement of Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5 accompanied by the cast picture. She shadily colored over the faces of Bryant and Dillard with a yellow marker because she doesn’t  “need their faces on my page.”

Another fan thanked her for making them laugh, and Samuels replied that she aimed to “provide a little humor in the midst of sadness.”
