During the Nov. 14 episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 2, Meredith Marks accused Jen Shah’s former assistant of stealing a handbag from her store. Following the episode, Heather Gay claimed the same employee also stole from her. The assistant has since responded, disputing much of Beauty Lab owner alleged.

Meredith Marks claimed Jen Shah’s employee stole from her store

The Nov. 14 episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City followed the women as they reacted to Jen Shah’s arrest after learning of her charges.

When they gathered at the Meredith Marks’ hosted Vail home for dinner, Marks explained why the situation didn’t surprise her as much as it did the other ladies.

She revealed a previous incident in which she believed Shah’s assistant stole a handbag from her store. The jewelry designer claimed she had her manager ask for the clutch back and noted the employee returned with it.

She also included a video of the security footage showing the assistant walking out with the purse and returning it. Shah defended her employee by suggesting that those working that day might have accidentally put it in a bag.

Heather Gay accused the same employee of stealing from her

Following the episode, RHOSLC star Heather Gay appeared on an after-show and claimed the same assistant Marks accused of stealing did the same thing to her.

According to her, the employee also stole from her cosmetic business, Beauty Lab and Laser. Gay explained the person previously worked for her and received money on the side, which violated her company rules.

She claimed Shah informed her that she gave money to the employee to set an appointment. When Gay asked them, she noted the person admitted the indiscretion and resigned from Beauty Lab.

According to the reality star, she ceased contact with the employee after the resignation. Gay ended by claiming she believed Marks because the assistant’s actions are “consistent” with her experience with the person.

The former assistant refuted much of what she said in a statement

Shortly after the after-show aired, the assistant in question responded to the RHOSLC star on their Instagram Story. They claimed they considered Gay a “close friend” and insisted they shared a close bond at one point.

According to the former assistant, they began working at Beauty Lab in 2017 but quit two years later after they knowingly broke the rules by accepting a tip from Shah. The person claimed they hadn’t received money from anyone else and denied stealing from the cash register, as Gay implied.

They also noted that other employees have accepted tips from customers and claimed a current staff member broke the same rule but remains employed by the company. Additionally, they refuted their former boss’ claims that she ceased contact, insisting Gay gave them a job as her personal assistant two weeks after the resignation. The person claimed they helped transport her kids and still assisted at Beauty Lab.

Finally, the former employee claimed they introduced Shah to Gay and was “disgusted” that the reality star had accused them of theft. They also included screenshots showing she paid for services he reportedly rendered after quitting Beauty Lab. Gay hasn’t responded to the former assistant as of yet. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Sundays on Bravo.
