Looking at Rihanna’s page on IMDb it is clear she has appeared in countless television series and movies. The Vampire Diaries, Criminal Minds, Parks and Recreation, and The Office are just a few of the many titles she has contributed to. However, in 2012, Rihanna took the screen as an actor and not just a performer in Battleship. The action-based film was centered around a naval group that uncovered a fleet of ships that were invading the country.

The sci-fi movie also included a romantic storyline starring Brooklyn Decker. Taylor Kitsch and Liam Neeson were a few of the noteworthy actors to get cast in Battleship. Many viewers and fans were surprised to see Rihanna play the part of Petty Officer Cora ‘Weps’ Raikes. Her character was a weapons specialist with a good and supportive work ethic. Around the same time Battleship premiered the press and media kept alluding to Rihanna having a fling with Ashton Kutcher. Rihanna was in London promoting the film when a reporter asked her a question that she didn’t like too much. HuffPost recapped the uncomfortable instance. The reporter complimented the star on her ability to connect with people and her fans before going on to ask Rihanna if she was happy with her personal life and if her fans should expect to hear more about Kutcher. 

Rihanna simply responded, “Wow, how disappointing was that question.” She followed up with, “I’m happy and I’m single if that’s what you’re really asking.” Rihanna is one of the most highly-loved public figures. Her genuine and authentic nature comes across in all that she does, even in her interviews.
