The fifth season was split into two

Season 5 of Riverdale premiered on Jan. 20, 2021, and continued to drop weekly until the tenth episode aired on March 31. The show then took a long hiatus due to pandemic-related delays.

The cast and crew filmed the season’s remaining episodes in Vancouver through the Spring and Summer.  And after a four-month break, the series picked up with Episode 11, “Chapter Eighty-Seven: Strange Bedfellows,” on Aug. 11.

How many episodes is ‘Riverdale’ Season 5?

Riverdale Season 5 consists of 19 episodes in total. The first half of the season, which aired in early 2021, featured 10 episodes.

That leaves the second half of the season with nine episodes. And after Episode 16, “Chapter Ninety-Two: Band of Brothers,” airs on Sept. 22, fans will get three more installments for the season.

When is the ‘Riverdale’ Season 5 finale?

As of now, it looks like Riverdale won’t be taking any more breaks until after the Season 5 finale. The final three episodes air as follows:

“Chapter Ninety-Three: Dance of Death” airs Sept. 22

“Chapter Ninety-Four: Next to Normal” airs Sept. 29

And the Season 5 finale, “Chapter Ninety-Five: Riverdale: RIP(?)” hits The CW on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

What is the ‘Riverdale’ Season 6 release date?

The Riverdale finale is right around the corner. But luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to dive back into the drama. Back in February, The CW renewed the show, and

Riverdale Season 6 premieres on November 16, 2021. The show is moving from its Wednesday, 8 p.m. EST time slot to Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST.

As of now, we don’t know what the new season will entail. But according to series creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, fans can expect a lot more exciting drama.

“Forces are gathering for the ultimate battle between Good and Evil as the cameras begin to roll on #Riverdale Season Six,” he wrote in an Aug. 30 Instagram post. “But who will stand on which side? And who will live, and who will die? Everything has been a prelude to this.”

In the caption to his photo, which depicts a maple tree that’s dead on one side and lush on the other, Aguirre-Sacasa also dropped a few clues. He added emojis of a fire, tornado, skull, ring, roller coaster, money, and a casket. From those alone, it looks like Riverdale Season 6 will include a few disasters, an engagement, some money drama, and a death.

A lot of what happens in Season 6 will depend on how this season ends. But it will likely pick back up with the gang in Riverdale. And like every season prior, they’ll probably be faced with a brand new mystery or challenge to solve.
