Are Rudi and Matt Together After ‘The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart’?
Rudi Gutierrez and Matt Ranaudo may have had a rocky start on The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, but they quickly turned up the heat. The couple stunned audiences with their musical talents. But is that enough to keep a romantic relationship alive? So naturally, as the Listen to Your Heart finale approaches, fans are wondering whether Rudi and Matt are still together now. Here’s what we know.
What happened to Rudi and Matt on ‘The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart’ Season 1
Rudi and Matt were surrounded by drama in The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart series premiere. The couple hit it off right away, even stepping into the hot tub together. Even so, Matt decided to give Mel Taevin his date card. So Rudi called Matt out on his actions and it appeared to be the last of the relationship.
Nevertheless, Rudi and Matt reignited their connection in the second episode. Matt also gave Rudi his rose during the elimination ceremony and the pair continued to grow stronger as the performances began.
The spark between Matt and Rudi was clear onstage. However, the couple faced a bit of drama. In the fifth week, the contestants went down to Las Vegas and Rudi revealed she was falling in love with Matt. However, her partner wasn’t able to reciprocate those feelings.
At first, Rudi was upset. But by the end of the episode, she understood Matt just needed some time and she was willing to fight for him. Meanwhile, Matt gushed over Rudi, revealing he wanted to keep playing music with her forever.

Do Rudi and Matt break up on ‘The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart’?
According to franchise blogger Reality Steve, Rudi and Matt do not win The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart. Chris Watson and Bri Stauss earn the grand prize. But regardless, it seems Rudi and Matt don’t even make it to the final performance.
By now, we’ve seen a few teasers from the last stage in Nashville, Tennessee. The official promo trailer doesn’t show any clips of Rudi and Matt performing. Of course, it could have been a fakeout. However, Reality Steve revealed there were only two couples who performed in the finale — Bri and Chris as well as Jamie Gabrielle and Trevor Holmes.
This means Rudi and Matt were eliminated before The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart finale. And because the decision wasn’t made by the judges, it’s likely the couple broke up on the show. However, fans will just have to hold on and see how things unfold.
Are Rudi and Matt still together now, three months after ‘The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart’ filmed?
Just because Rudi and Matt did not make it to The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart finale doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not together now. At this point, viewers don’t know why the couple didn’t make it to the last performance nor what happened after the show stopped filming. Meanwhile, both Rudi and Matt seem to be friendly toward each other as they make their media rounds.
In May 2020, Matt and Rudi did an interview together with Access. Matt apologized to Rudi for not reciprocating her feelings in the fifth week, noting he didn’t understand how he felt at the time. He also shared what he should have said at the time.
“I would say that I care about her so much and I’m looking forward to exploring a relationship more,” Matt said. “And I might not have been exactly where she was at that moment. But I’m willing to figure it out.”
The music artist also gushed over his partner, explaining how grateful he was to have Rudi by his side through the process. Meanwhile, Rudi confirmed she was glad she signed up for the ABC reality series. She then said she wouldn’t have been able to do the show without Matt.
“We helped each other through so much and I genuinely … could not have done it without him by my side,” Rudi said.
Then when speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Rudi defended Matt for his actions on the show. However, the singer admitted she wished her partner was more “transparent.”
“I think just [Matt] being as transparent as possible with me… I think he could’ve maybe done a little bit better of a job,” Rudi said. “But I also think it was hard for him… he’s not a bad guy and I don’t think he did anything intentionally. But would I have appreciated maybe a little bit more of a heads up as to where he was before that? Yeah, I would’ve.”
For now, The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart fans are still rooting for Rudi and Matt to end up together. But even if they don’t continue dating after the show, the couple seems to have mutual respect for one another. And we’ll just have to wait and see where their futures are headed. Update: Where Matt and Rudi stand today
In The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart finale on May 18, Matt and Rudi self-eliminated before the last performance. However, it seems they’re still in contact.
“We don’t go a day without talking to each other,” Rudi told KSAT. “We are even closer than we were … whenever the show ended. It’s hard. We haven’t been able to see each other. We FaceTime every day. But I’m in San Antonio. He’s in LA. So we’re not together, but I don’t know. You never know.”
Rudi also stated she will continue making music with Matt. Meanwhile, Matt hinted more “Mudi” was coming in the future.
“I am so deeply sorry if I let you guys down,” Matt wrote on Twitter. “Thank you so much for accepting Rudi and I into your lives! And for all the love you have shown us! Much more to come! Mudi shall play on I promise.”
Then on June 15, Rudi confirmed she is not dating Matt in a post on Instagram. She wrote:
Let me finally clear the air…me and matt are not together and I have chosen to just try and move on from all things “mudi”. feelings don’t go away over night and as much as i would love to do music with him i can’t keep torturing myself and putting myself through that. i also can’t sit around and wait for forever. im sorry if ive let anyone down but i need to do what’s best for me and my heart.
