‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ Bumps ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ and ‘The Neighborhood’ Back on the CBS Schedule for Thanksgiving Week

The official CBS schedule lists ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ in place of ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ and ‘The Neighborhood’ during the Thanksgiving week on November 22 Monday night primetime slot. It only marks the beginning of several Christmas specials airing on CBS for the holiday season into December.

Tis the season for Christmas specials to rearrange the usual primetime schedules. The week leading to 2021 Thanksgiving, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer takes the Monday night primetime slot on the CBS schedule. While families can enjoy the Christmas classic, fans of Bob Hearts Abishola and Cedric the Entertainer’s The Neighborhood need to wait an extra week for new episodes to air. Here’s what time and where you can catch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on CBS.

When and where to watch ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ in the CBS schedule

During the average Monday primetime slot, Cedric the Entertainer’s The Neighborhood airs at 8 pm EST. The Billy Gardell and Folake Olowofoyeku romantic-comedy sitcom follows at 8:30 pm EST.

However, on Monday, November 22, 2021, families can watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer taking their place on the CBS schedule at 8 pm EST.

Originally airing in 1964, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer follows Rudolph, a reindeer born with a shiny nose. While it initially has him outcast by his fellow reindeer, Santa Claus sees his potential.

As the song goes, Santa says, “Rudolph, with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”

And who could forget Hermey, who shirks ‘elf practice’ to try becoming a dentist, and Yukon Cornelius, the arctic prospector?

‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed-Reindeer’ is the first of several Christmas specials in the CBS schedule

While the CBS schedule has Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer kicking off the Christmas specials, several others air after Thanksgiving.

On Friday, November 26, 2021, Frosty the Snowman and Frosty Returns air back to back from 8 pm EST to 9 pm EST.

Saturday features even more Christmas specials, with two Robbie the Reindeer specials running at 8 pm and 8:30 pm EST. At 9 pm, The Story of Santa Claus plays.

Sunday, December 5, brings the National Christmas Tree Lighting at 8:30 pm. At 9:30 pm, CBS presents the 23rd Annual ‘A Home for the Holidays at the Grove.’

With Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer filling one Monday night at 8 pm, you might wonder when the other CBS sitcoms could return.

When will the Monday night schedule return to normal?

The official CBS schedule has Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer listed during Thanksgiving week. However, on November 29, the regularly scheduled programming will resume.

The Neighborhood Season 4, Episode 8, “Welcome to the Family Business,” returns at 8 pm EST. However, not much has been revealed about the episode.

Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3, Episode 8, “Light Duty,” airs at 8:30 pm EST. A CBS press release detailed what Aishola, Bob, and Gina Yashere’s Kemi could tackle.
