RuPaul’s Drag Race is pretty good. Like, earned a few Emmy-awards for its content good. Still, only the best of the best compete on the World of Wonder-produced RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars. On this spin-off, drag performers have a chance to show their growth and prove they really are America’s Next Drag Superstar.

There are four seasons of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars’ already released

From the Alyssa Edwards and Tatianna lip-sync to Shangela’s entrance, there have been a few iconic moments on RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars. Because all these queens have already competed on the series, this spin-off show only showcases the best of the best, who return for a chance to win the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar and a place in the “Drag Race Hall of Fame.”

Each already-released season held plenty of twists and turns, even more so than regular seasons of Drag Race. A jury of already-eliminated contestants? Done. Two queens named “America’s Next Drag Superstar?” For the first time in Drag Race herstory, it totally happened.

Four seasons of this spin-off show already premiered on VH1 and two of those seasons are available for streaming on Hulu. However, RuPaul announced that the fifth season of this series is already in the works and some suspect it to premiere this year.

Reportedly, season 5 of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars’ is in the works

The wait is almost over, Drag Race fans. After over a year of waiting, RuPaul shared that season 5 of All-Stars is filmed and almost ready for release. Almost. Some fans initially thought All-Stars 5 would drop around the same month as All-Stars 4 did the year prior. Instead, there was an announcement for season 12.

In the upcoming season of All-Stars fans suspect just as many gag-worthy moments as previous seasons, if not more. However, there’s no word regarding what the format will be. Could there be another team-based competition, or maybe contestants will eliminate each other again? Fans will just have to wait to see.

When does ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5’ premiere?

Not much is known about this upcoming season of RuPaul’s competition series. That includes the cast list (although Drag Race sleuths have a pretty good idea of who will be on this season) and its premiere date. Presumably, All-Stars 5 will drop sometime after the premiere on season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

There’s also a special season of Celebrity Drag Race in the works, and no word regarding when this spin-off will premiere. Though some suspect it could come either right before or right after RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5. Fans will just have to hold onto their wigs until the drag performer and host “Ru-veals” more information.

Until then, season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres Feb. 28, 2020, on VH1.
