Aiden Zhane on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 12

The 29-year-old Georgia-based queen premiered on the second episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 and immediately made a mark on the competition with her unique horror-inspired look.

In the third episode, other queens became annoyed with her simple design and felt like Aiden didn’t work hard enough. Nonetheless, the judges declared her safe.

She then received harsh criticism from Michelle Visage for her Lady Baller runway look as the judge blasted her for simply gluing balls on a gown. Once again, the judges saved her, much to the chagrin of Jaida Essence Hall, who felt like the small-town queen should have landed in the bottom.

The ladies then had to compete in a Gay’s Anatomy acting challenge, and the judges chose Aiden as one of their top performances of the day. However, Brita, who had to lip-sync for her life, disagreed with the decision and felt like she and another scene partner “carried” the horror-glam contestant through the challenge.

Aiden Zhane eliminated after Snatch Game performance

For the Snatch Game, Aiden Zhane picked Irish actress Patricia Quinn, most noted for her performance as Magenta in 1975 film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

When speaking with Brita and Jackie Cox, the small town queen explained she wanted to portray the “old and cooky woman” because they had lunch together and felt like she could embody the actress.

During the Snatch Game, Aiden impersonated Patricia Quinn by replying to nearly every question confused about where she was or how to answer anything. The only answers Aiden did give were drug references as opposed to Rocky Horror Picture Show mentions.

Additionally, the horror glam queen didn’t attempt to do Patricia Quinn’s trademark accent. Due to Aiden’s lackluster Snatch Game and her less-than-impressive Frozen Eleganza look, Aiden ended up in the bottom alongside Brita, who also bombed with her Jennifer Holiday impersonation.

The New York queen dominated Aiden in a lip-sync performance to the Broadway version of “Let It Go,” sending the horror-glam contestant home.

Patricia Quinn responds to Aiden Zhane’s portrayal of her

A friend of the Irish actress took to Facebook to express his opinion of Aiden’s “unflattering” portrayal of his “bestie.” He explained the small-town queen “made her out to be the complete antithesis of who she is and what she represents.”

The friend also noted Aiden didn’t “make a single Rocky Horror reference” and thought it was “insane” that the queen didn’t “bother doing Patricia’s accent” after announcing she chose the actress because they had met.

The Irish singer responded to the post, writing she is “disgusted beyond belief.” Additionally, Patricia Quinn called Aiden a “liar” and claimed she “does not know this utterly untalented person.”

Several viewers, including many former contestants, also expressed their dislike for Aiden’s portrayal, while others believe the small town queen doesn’t deserve the hate. RuPaul’s Drag Race airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on VH1.
