Russell Wilson referred to Ciara as his ‘queen’ and said she’s ‘heaven-sent’ on Instagram

For her birthday, Ciara shared on Twitter that she’s airing a special episode of her Apple radio show, Level Up Radio. The show’s name is from Ciara’s 2019 hit of the same moniker. She previewed the episode on October 25, and it has appearances by La La Anthony, Kelly Rowland, and more of Ciara’s close friends.

Although Ciara made plans of her own, Russell didn’t let her special day go by without celebrating his wife on Instagram. He posted two photos of Ciara, and the first was a snap of the singer embraced by Sienna and baby Future. In the second photo, Ciara, Russell, and Sienna posed in front of a plane.

“My Queen. You are everything a man, husband, lover, friend, dad, a family, and our kids could ever ask for! You are Heaven sent. You have changed my life for the better. You, my Queen, are the most loving mother to our beautiful three babies. I am grateful for how you always love. Jesus has anointed you from the crown of your head to the souls of your feet,” Russell said of Ciara. “You have changed generations with your music, your dance, business, & your influence as a woman around the world. However, despite all of that. The best thing about you is how you always make our family laugh and smile from ear to ear. We love how you wrap your arms around us. We love you forever. Daddy loves you.  Happy Birthday, Babylove! @Ciara.”

A brief look into Ciara and Russell Wilson’s marriage

Ciara and Russell first made their romance official when they attended an April 2015 White House State Dinner. Their outing was several months after Ciara ended her engagement to Future in 2014. Russell proposed to Ciara a year after the White House dinner, and the two welcomed their first child together.

Throughout their relationship, Ciara has said she shared a specific prayer before she met the love of her life. The exact wording of the prayer was something fans often demanded of Ciara, and she finally detailed what she prayed for in a May 2019 interview with Angie Martinez.

“I prayed for a God-fearing man. I prayed for discernment. I prayed for wisdom to really learn from the wisdom that I’ve gained from the experience that I’m going through,” Ciara said. “I prayed for a man that loved kids, because, obviously, me having my son, if you’re gonna love me you’ve got to love him. I prayed for a man that was worldly as well. Because I love to explore so someone that was gonna edify my world, that was important to me. I was ready to level up!

Ciara wasn’t the only one who admitted she prayed for the life she has now. In March 2020, Russell shared on Instagram live that he had a list of “non-negotiables” that he wanted in his next relationship before he met Ciara. He said those included, “1. a woman of faith;  2. a woman who is faithful; 3. a woman who is independent; 4. a woman who will love him like his mother loved his father; and, 5. a woman who will tilt the room.” Russell said he found all of those qualities and more when he met Ciara.
