While we know a great deal of detail about the lives of many A-list celebrities, actors Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have managed to keep their private lives unwraps. The pair met back in 2011 when they were filming the movie, The Place Beyond the Pines. Sparks clearly flew because nearly a decade later the pair are still together and they share two young daughters, Esmeralda Amada Gosling and Amada Lee Gosling.

Though Gosling still remains active in Hollywood with films like La La Land and First Man under his belt, Mendes has taken a step back from Hollywood, taking projects like designing a line with New York and Company that keeps her closer to home.

The Hollywood couple rarely share any insight into their personal lives, but amid self-quarantine, we’ve gotten more details about their ultra-private family life.

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling will never share photos of their personal life on social media

There is only one professional photograph of Mendes and Gosling, which stems from The Place Beyond the Pines. Though Mendes is eager to connect with other women across the globe, she’s made it clear that her private life is not up for display.

When a fan suggested they wouldn’t mind seeing Gosling on Mendes’ Instagram feed, the actress sweetly responded. “As far as Ryan, I’ll only post flashbacks of things that are already ‘out there’ (like pics from movies we did or stuff like that). My man and my kids are private,” she wrote. “That’s important to me so thanks for getting that. Have a beautiful day. Sending so much love!”

Prior to meeting Gosling, Mendes says she had no plans on having children. “Ryan Gosling happened,” she said. “I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have… not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him.”

Eva Mendes thinks about acting differently now that she as family

Though Gosling has continued to make a film once a year, Mendes’ acting career came to a halt when she gave birth to her first daughter. However, that has been by design.

“As a mother now, there are many roles I won’t do,” Mendes said on Instagram. “There are many subject matters that I don’t want to be involved with, so it limits my choices and I’m fine with that. I have to set an example for my girls now. But no worry, I got some side hustles. Ha! Thanks for asking. All the best for 2020.”

This echos some of the same things she said last year. “Now that I’m older and that I’m a mother, I would obviously choose my roles differently,” she told E! News. “I’m just a walking example for [my daughters] and I take that very seriously so it would have to be something that feels appropriate and that would still be fun for me.”

This is what Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s home life looks like

It looks like the actors have tried to make their everyday life as normal as possible for their daughters, even amid quarantining.

“They’re hands-on parents and don’t have any nannies,” a source told US Weekly. “Being confined to their home with two small children is exhausting at times, especially without hired help. Eva has programmed her entire routine and career to ensure family comes first—then work fits in around it. Ryan is protective of Eva and a very doting dad.” As a family the foursome enjoys going to parks and farmers’ markets, reading and watching movies.

However, The Notebook actor’s passion is cooking and baking for his family. “That’s his big thing,” a second source told US Weekly. “He encourages everyone to do it with him. It’s fun for the whole family.”
