The 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place on Feb. 27, honoring standout performers for their work on television series and films over the past year. The awards show will feature well-known stars from some of the best projects of 2021, as well as preview the Oscars circuit. So, when and where can viewers tune in for the 2022 SAG Awards?

What time are the 2022 SAG Awards and the pre-show?

The 2022 SAG Awards will kick off on Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. EST. The ceremony will air live from the Barker Hangar of the Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, Calif. The 2021 iteration of the event went virtual because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the awards are back in person this year — and they’re embracing a new location as well.

As with most awards shows, the SAG Awards will feature a red carpet before the main ceremony at 5:30 p.m. EST. A pre-show will also be hosted by E! News. The Live From E!: SAG Awards red carpet will start at 6 p.m. EST, giving this year’s nominees plenty of time to show off their outfits before heading inside. Fans can catch their arrivals on YouTube or by watching the red carpet on Peacock.

According to the outlet, Laverne Cox will headline the E! pre-show event with Yvette Nicole Brown also on hand. Naz Perez will offer speculation throughout the event, promising an all-around exciting time before the main ceremony even begins. But where can viewers watch the 2022 SAG Awards when they start?

What channel are the SAG Awards on?

If you’re planning to catch the 2022 SAG Awards when they air, you can watch them on TNT or TBS. Both channels will broadcast the awards show while it’s happening, so Cable subscribers can see it unfold in real time.

According to USA Today, viewers can also watch the event on the TNT and TBS mobile and connected device apps, as well as their websites. Those who can’t tune in on Feb. 27 will also have the option to stream the show on HBO Max on Monday, Feb. 28 — a first for the SAGs.

Additionally, fans can stay up to date on the winners by logging onto Twitter, where there’s sure to be a running commentary on each major category. So, which stars will present at this years event and which projects were nominated?

Hamilton stars Daveed Diggs, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Leslie Odom Jr. will open the 2022 SAG Awards — and they aren’t the only well-known stars fans will spot throughout the evening. Alexandra Daddario and Ross Butler will serve as SAG Awards’ embassadors during the event. They’ll also present awards, along with a long list of other stars.

SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher will also be presenting. And SAG-nominated actor Kate Winslet will bestow Helen Mirren with the 2021 SAG Life Achievement Award, which according to the Screen Actors Guild website, applauds talent who upholds the “finest ideals of the acting profession.”

As for nominees, the cast members of numerous successful shows and movies are up for honors this year. House of Gucci, Belfast, CODA, The Power of the Dog, Licorice Pizza, Don’t Look Up, and King Richard are among the films represented. Meanwhile, TV series competing for the gold include Succession, Squid Game, Yellowstone, The Morning Show, The Handmaid’s Tale, and more.
