Will Sally Spectra Ever Return To ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’?
When it comes to iconic The Bold and the Beautiful characters, few — if any — have the impact of the original Sally Spectra. Played by Darlene Conley — who is revered as a gay icon — the original Sally Spectra shameless bit styles from the Forresters and had a jovial personality that was unmatched before or since. When Conley died in 2007, the role of Sally Spectra was written to have retired to the south of France, surrounded by hunky cabana boys. But then, in 2017, a new Sally Spectra — the grandniece of the original grande dame — was introduced to the small-screen. Courtney Hope portrayed the new Sally Spectra from that point forward. And though Hope can now be seen on The Young and the Restless, fans are wondering if Sally Spectra will ever return to The Bold and the Beautiful.

In August 2020, Courtney Hope announced that she was leaving The Bold and the Beautiful. And, she would be taking the character of Sally Spectra with her.
In an Instagram post, she wrote in part, “An abrupt ending to a monumental journey. The last three years have been amazing, and though I do not know what the future holds this chapter of Sally has sadly come to an end. I love my @boldandbeautifulcbs cast and crew and will miss everyone dearly, but await the day we may all play again. Some things are out of our control, and I thank the fans for your support through it all! Until then, I revel in new beginnings and everything the future has in store. Love you all, Sally spectra out.”
Fans may have been the reason she left the show
According to some published reports, fans of The Bold and the Beautiful may have caused her to be written off the show.
The career-driven woman slowly transformed into someone who threw away all her career ambitions. Spectra began focusing her attention on various love interests and eventually fell into a troubled relationship with Wyatt. Though Spectra’s fans love the resilient and courageous character, over time, many fans became increasingly vocal about their dislike of how the character’s personality had changed.
But, The Bold and the Beautiful fans who were fans of Sally Spectra can now find her on The Young and the Restless. Periodically, too, the stars of the shows will cross over between them. According to Soaps.com, John McCook — who plays Eric Forrester — periodically crosses over between the shows. Could the same thing happen to Sally?
Will she ever cross back over?
