On Thursday, Jan. 9, Deadline reported Paulson’s return in AHS Season 10 during the Television Critics Association press tour.

“I did ask Ryan if the question was asked to me, could I say that I was coming back, and he said ‘yes, you could say,'” Paulson said. “So, yes I will be back on American Horror Story.”

Then when asked whether fans can expect Paulson to be cast as a series regular in American Horror Story Season 10, the actress replied, “I should hope so.” And in an interview with The Wrap at the same event, Paulson confirming she will be playing an important role.

“I have no idea what it will be… But I’m not coming back as a guest part, I will be a central character,” she said.

Following the Apocalypse finale, creator Ryan Murphy hinted the witches, including Paulson’s Cordelia, will come back sometime in the future.

“The witches will be back,” he told Entertainment Weekly in December 2018. “Not next season, but we have something really fun planned.”

So will the upcoming season have Paulson reprising an old role? At this point, only time will tell. Regardless, with the renewal of AHS Seasons 11, 12, and 13, Paulson wants to continue working on the FX series past the 10th season. However, it seems the decision won’t be made for some time. And ultimately, it’s up to Murphy.

“God willing,” Paulson said when The Wrap asked if she would appear in the renewed seasons. “I have no idea.”

Will Evan Peters come back in ‘American Horror Story’ with Sarah Paulson?

Now, Paulson isn’t the only beloved actor fans want back on American Horror Story in season 10. Evan Peters hasn’t appeared on the show since the eighth cycle, Apocalypse. And when the Peters left the show in 2018, he expressed his struggles with portraying darker characters.

“It’s just exhausting. It’s really mentally draining, and you don’t want to go to those places ever in your life,” Peters told GQ. “So you have to go there for the scenes, and it ends up integrating it somehow into your life.”

Nevertheless, the actor kept his options over, noting he will “never say never” to his American Horror Story return. Then at the 100th episode celebration for the FX anthology series, Paulson said her AHS comeback depended on Peters.

“I would like to do something with Evan,” Paulson told TV Guide. “I miss Evan and I miss acting with Evan. So I’d love to have that experience again. If he’ll come back, I’m back.”

But does Paulson’s return to AHS mean anything about Peters? That has yet to be determined. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy teased the possibility sometime in the future.

“We spoke in the past month about him coming back to the show some year,” Murphy said in October 2019. “And I hope we will.”
